12017-06-06 05:25:11 UTCtonyf1 Hi. Your edits to the map are encouraged. A lot of people depend on the map so please only add real things.

12017-06-05 05:25:01 UTCtonyf1 Hi. What is your source of information for these ferry routes? A web search of Sealink doesn't find them.
22017-06-05 06:05:39 UTCtonyf1 I have reverted these changes

12017-06-05 05:41:37 UTCtonyf1 Hi. You appear to have created a fictitious town Austina in the Sudan desert. OSM is not the place for imaginary places.

12017-06-03 07:43:41 UTCtonyf1 Hi. You have made slight changes to the marine boundary west of Coffin Bay. Is this correct? What is your data source?

12017-06-03 07:17:09 UTCtonyf1 Hi. I don't think you will get the changes to the map that you want. My suggestion: if there is a gate then add a node barrier=gate with the access tag set to private, if it is a private road then tag the appropriate length of road with access=private
12017-06-02 22:42:08 UTCtonyf1 Hi. When you converted the shop Interiorwise from a node to an area you lost the tags giving the street address
12017-05-30 06:39:13 UTCtonyf1 Hi. You have deleted some features. It looks suspicious but I am not familiar with Sydney so its hard to know. Can you please give information on why these features were deleted. Thanks.
22017-06-16 12:18:48 UTCaharvey Removing http://www.openstreetmap.org/way/9922132/history was probably good since it's also mapped https://www.openstreetmap.org/way/499234807.

But without justification for removing all those POIs and no response here in 17 days, I'm going to revert this. If there features really aren't there an...
32017-06-18 23:38:34 UTCchris_o Hi guys, very sorry for the lack of response. I was not aware that removing nodes would affect map for everyone - as I thought it would just change my "instance" of the map.

I initially removed the nodes as I was trying to make a "clean" looking map for a project I was working...
42017-06-19 00:20:53 UTCaharvey That's okay, at least now you know. I've already fixed up the deletions.
12017-05-30 05:11:13 UTCtonyf1 Hi. I see you have been converting buildings from node to area. This is very useful. Thanks. Unfortunately you don't seem to be carrying across all the information, address, wifi, website, for example Gosford RSL.
12017-05-28 22:59:00 UTCtonyf1 Hi. It appears you accidentally dragged a node of Mark Place. I have fixed it.
22017-05-29 22:40:56 UTCWarin61 Way 496461665 - wood crosses itself ... this is not good. Ways forming areas should have a clear inner and outer .. when they cross it becomes difficult to determine which bits are inner and outer.
Suggest you 'fix it' so you learn what to do?

Use http://tools.geofabrik.de/osmi/?view=areas&...
32017-06-07 23:11:25 UTCWarin61 I see you have not fixed this.

So i did it myself.

Several things that .. the wood used

The wood includes several swimming pools, backyards...

12017-05-27 12:34:47 UTCtonyf1 Hi
You have tagged https://www.openstreetmap.org/way/496262536 as heath. It looks like lawn and car park to me.
22017-05-28 07:05:08 UTCtonyf1 No reply to my comment. Changing natural=heath to landuse=commercial
12017-05-28 03:39:24 UTCtonyf1 Hi. Thanks for your contributions. You have mapped a park where, according to the satellite images, none exists. Is there a park here or is it a lookout or is it a named locality or what?
22017-05-28 04:08:15 UTCAJThompson Many things I've marked on the map today don't appear in satellite images. As for whether this area is a park, it depends on your definition. It is a flat dirt area that acts as a trail hub for mountain bikers. It has seats and trees, and I guess that makes it a park. It is funded by the local and s...
32017-05-28 05:32:21 UTCtonyf1 Hi. Thanks for the prompt reply and your contributions. It is important to get things right and have the most accurate tagging. OSM is a database used by many maps so this goes beyond getting a good result on the map at openstreetmap.org. Its not good practice to use the wrong tag as a "marker&...
12017-05-21 06:27:38 UTCtonyf1 Hi. Welcome to OSM. Thankyou for your contributions. Unfortunately you have dragged nodes by mistake in a couple of places damaging the Gosford station footbridge and the boundary of the commercial area immediately to the east. You need to be especially careful when editing high density urban areas ...

12017-05-11 22:14:05 UTCtonyf1 Hi. Welcome to OSM. I am surprised that there is really a Reserved forest and a standing stone here. Can you provide more information? Map features which are unverifiable are at risk of deletion.
22017-05-11 22:57:43 UTCAnnabelle Daniel Hi Tony,

The standing stone is there because I put it there with a crane. It's at the very end of my backyard. The triangular forest is fenced off, quarantined as Sydney Rail corridor property and filled with native vegetation. There is significant local wildlife living there, including bird and ...
32017-05-13 00:22:04 UTCtonyf1 Thanks for the reply. I think that there are problems with the Reserved forest. You have mapped it as a complex re-entrant polygon. The map rendering software has difficulty rendering this and shows a sliver of green little bigger than a car. Also, I think "Reserved forest" is a descriptio...
42017-05-13 05:51:48 UTCAnnabelle Daniel Thanks! I'll try and fix it as it is larger than a car - but oddly shaped. Like a wedge with a blunt end.
52017-05-13 07:14:51 UTCWarin61 The landuse tag is for the human use of the land, so a forest would be used to produce wood for example ... I think you want to tag it natural=wood ... (as close as OSM gets to landcover=trees).
If you want to add 'information' to the feature .. then possibly use comment=reserved forest ... and I'...
12017-04-24 08:37:45 UTCtonyf1 Hi. You appear to be mapping the underground stormwater drainage system. Maybe they would be best tagged as man_made=pipeline rather than waterway=drain considering that they are underground. See http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Tag:waterway%3Ddrain
22017-05-11 07:05:40 UTCtonyf1 Hi, you quote Source: Hurstville City Council Drain Map. Is this your source for all these drains? Is its licence compatible with OSM?
32017-05-11 11:16:37 UTCaharvey @Spookylad, it doesn't seem the license of your source is compatible. Unless you can point us to further details about the license, could you please revert these changes and instead add data from ground survey or other sources which can be used in OSM.
42017-05-12 06:48:25 UTCSpookylad Sorry I didn't have much time to review and finish the details. I removed the non park drainways, and I will continue to map Empress Park correctly. The drainways from the park are a mixture of Tunneled and underground/hidden. How do I go about tagging each of those aspects appropriately? I can take...
52017-05-13 00:08:30 UTCtonyf1 Thanks for your reply.

You should delete anything that is not compatible with OSM's licence conditions.

Reading the wiki, I don't think that drain or culvert are the right tag. man_made=pipeline location=underground substance=water seems the best fit but I haven't seen what's on the ground.\...
12017-05-05 05:58:30 UTCtonyf1 Hi. You have created a tourism attraction named Snorkeling. What is special about this particular location? Is this a known and named dive site or just one location of many in the Whitsundays where you can dive?
22017-05-10 06:55:52 UTCtonyf1 No reply to my comment. Deleting.
12017-05-10 06:13:08 UTCtonyf1 Hi. Definitely not highway=services that's for a fuel stop on a highway. It looks like a terrace house. Your website has a PO box but no address. Is there anything physically at this address which deserves to be on the map?
12017-05-10 05:56:29 UTCtonyf1 Hi. Its definitely not a historic castle. Deleting.

12017-05-05 05:54:51 UTCtonyf1 Hi. You have placed a tourism attraction here. What is special about this particular location within the Villa Borghese?
12017-04-30 01:49:44 UTCtonyf1 Hi. I doubt there is a historic monument in the middle of the bridge named "Beautiful bridge. Possibly delete the monument and tag the bridge historic = yes and/or tourism=attraction, and/or tourism=viewpoint
22017-05-04 01:57:42 UTCtonyf1 No reply to changeset comment. Deleting monument and tagging bridge with tourism=attraction
12017-04-29 23:44:05 UTCtonyf1 Hi. Welcome to OSM. The new bar and a tree were mapped as the same node. I created a new node for the bar on the south side of Argyle St.
12017-04-29 23:14:41 UTCtonyf1 Hi. Welcome to Open Street Map. You appear to have created a camp ground in a suburban front yard. You may not know but your edits appear on public maps. I'll delete it, I am assuming its a mistake.
12017-04-28 23:58:48 UTCtonyf1 Reverted by SomeoneElse_Revert . See https://www.openstreetmap.org/user_blocks/1331
12017-04-28 05:47:54 UTCtonyf1 Hi. I note you are using tunnel=culvert. See http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Key:tunnel where it says "For a structure that carries water or another liquid some considerable distance then it may be more appropriate to tag it as a pipeline using man_made=pipeline"
12017-04-26 07:37:03 UTCtonyf1 Are you sure there is a shop here? There's nothing in the sat photo.
22017-04-27 00:32:51 UTCCloCkWeRX I think its http://winetasmania.com.au/east_coast_wine_route/listing/devils_corner_cellar_door_lookout
32017-04-27 07:13:33 UTCtonyf1 Thanks. Then I suspect the correct placement is 1km south, near viewpoint #2283984229 and "Corner Tasman Highway and Sherbourne Road"
12017-04-26 06:27:52 UTCtonyf1 I see you have added tunnel=yes to one of the underground stormwater drains. The wiki http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Tag:waterway%3Ddrain says: "Use man_made=pipeline where water, or other materials are carried underground or on the surface in pipes."
12017-04-25 11:05:15 UTCtonyf1 Deleted. Please reply to changeset comments. I don't think that your shop which has no physical presence is suitable for tagging on OSM. If you still disagree please discuss with a changeset comment or on the talk_au list.
12017-04-25 10:46:08 UTCtonyf1 Nothing visible, deleting.
12017-04-25 01:38:53 UTCtonyf1 Hi. Welcome to OSM. It looks like you are adding things that don't exist to get Pokemon spawns. Please only add real features.

32017-04-23 06:35:29 UTCIan TF Thanks Tonyf1, this is my first interaction with Open Street Maps so am feeling my way. I will have a go at changing the naming to what you suggest.
42017-04-23 06:45:05 UTCtonyf1 Hi Ian. Welcome to OSM. Good to see you mapping. Its always worth searching wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki when unsure how to tag and you can always get help on https://lists.openstreetmap.org/listinfo/talk-au Keep up your good work.
52017-04-23 06:55:01 UTCIan TF Thanks, I have also tried to relocate the off leash dog area in Kalinga to the new location. I think I have messed it up a bit as the insertion does not look like other entries. I am guessing you may be part of the local community in Brisbane. Therefore you may know David Dean. David is going t...
62017-04-23 07:35:41 UTCtonyf1 No I'm Melbourne. I presume the off leash area you created is Way: 488792552 . It doesnt have any tags and wont show on any map. I dont know how best to tag it, I would have to look at the wiki. The one you deleted a day ago was tagged barrier=fence and leisure=dog_park
12017-04-23 06:21:29 UTCtonyf1 I am deleting this node because it does not represent anything on the ground. There are plenty of Whitsunday features which can be tagged tourism attractions if they are not already.
12017-04-22 02:47:45 UTCtonyf1 This is a duplicate of Way: Sydney Opera House (4960757)
Deleting.
12017-04-21 07:47:12 UTCtonyf1 Hi, you may well be right but Google Maps is not an allowable source because of copyright. Can you provide alternate evidence like a photo of a street sign?

22017-04-21 08:03:15 UTCmapovis Hi Tonyf1,

12017-04-20 23:52:58 UTCtonyf1 Hi. Welcome to OSM. You appear to have deleted a quarry that shows in the satellite image and added a quadrilateral that will not show on any map. Please document your changes with a comment to explain what you have done and why.

12017-04-15 22:38:10 UTCtonyf1 Hi. I deleted footpaths that did not appear in the satellite image. They looked like they had been added for Pokemon Go spawns. My apologies if they were real.
12017-04-14 08:21:32 UTCtonyf1 Hi. I deleted multiple grassland wedges and non existent tree lines. If you want help editing you can ask on the mailing list https://lists.openstreetmap.org/listinfo/talk-au
12017-04-13 22:23:48 UTCtonyf1 Hi. Welcome to Open Street Map. Please add features that actually exist, your contributions are welcome. But please do not add Pokemon Go features which do not exist.
12017-04-12 06:49:47 UTCtonyf1 Hi. You are editing a public map. It is important that additions are accurate. Your continued contributions are welcome if they accurately reflect what is on the ground but I will delete the historic castle named My House.
12017-04-11 06:30:57 UTCtonyf1 Added shop=car_repair so that now the business appears on the map. Reduced description text to objectively verifiable facts.
12017-04-08 08:05:17 UTCtonyf1 Hi Addison, you say "somehow they disappeared". They were deleted by a very experienced user, presumably because he thought the names weren't verifiable see https://www.openstreetmap.org/changeset/47528007
12017-04-08 06:44:36 UTCtonyf1 Hi Addison. Welcome to Open Street Map and thanks for your contributions. I am however a bit doubtful as to whether some of the names belong on a public map. The names should be verifiable, that is other people would know these features by the same name, see http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Verifi...
12017-04-03 02:37:48 UTCtonyf1 Hi
You continue to add features which do not seem to exist. Maybe you are not aware you are editing a public map? Please reply to this comment as well as one two weeks ago.
Thanks
22017-04-03 05:02:21 UTCCloCkWeRX I removed this.
12017-03-28 06:10:54 UTCtonyf1 Hi
You are welcome to add your shop to OSM if you have one, but OSM is for real objects on the ground and not suited for virtual data like PO box and websites. Also changeset comments are important, not for product promotion. Please give reasons why your map edit should remain.

12017-03-01 22:58:48 UTCtonyf1 Hi, thanks for your recent edits and detailed changeset descriptions. I note that you changed the access tag for Ant Track and added some new bike tracks.
