Why was Kuckelbrod's name removed? It's in old_name:de (not name:de), so why should that be wrong? At least that's how the name was listed on Wikipedia.

Where is the quality deficiency in this situation? The name comes from Wikipedia; if you don't believe me, read the article that's directly linked to the object, and under "historical names" you'll find the designation I added.

Hallo Taya,

Eilean Balnagowan is what this island is called in English, you can see this on OS maps and on the wikipedia page for Cuil Bay. It also isn't the true Gaelic name but a corruption of it; the Gaelic spelling is Eilean Bhaile nan Gobhainn

Hi... Where did you get your coastline data from?
2 ~ 2 years agoTaya_S I mostly just use bing imagery. But esri wayback serves as a good backup tool sometimes. Plus its great for determining low tide features.
3 ~ 2 years agoColin Smale
♦327
Aerial imagery is no good for that as you have no idea of the state of the tide when the photo was taken, and you can't really tell if rocks are covered with water or not. In the UK the best data for HWM and LWM for us is from the Ordnance Survey in the Boundary-Line data set which contains HWM...
4 ~ 2 years agoTaya_S I've tried using the OS OpenMap Streetview/Local maps in the past, but have found them to be pretty outdated and innacurate at times. Especially near Saltmarshes. So I've mostly been using satellite imagery.

Imagery will not help! You cannot derive MHW(S)/MLW(S) from any picture, you need a professional survey over a long period of time.

I would suggest to just bear in mind that UK admin boundaries are in general aligned to MHW whereas the coastline is MHW. Apologies for the necro post, but since this has been linked elsewhere, I just want to point out that admin boundaries are often not aligned to MLW in the UK. For examples check around Rosyth and Boness (OSM currently shows the same as OS Boundary Line there.)

https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Key:landuse geeft als beschrijving "For land areas owned/used by the military for whatever purpose".

parking=street_side
parking:orientation=perpendicular (of diagonal of parallel.. ligt eraan)

https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Tag:highway%3Dbridleway

Groet,

Dag Thiskal..
https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Key:disused:highway

Dag Thiskal Lijkt me oke... Alleen wat gedupliceerde nodes. Is verholpen.
