I'm not going to start an edit war, but seems like this undid a lot of my changes from an hour prior without any comment on my changeset in this area or other notice to me. Was this intentional, or a result of an edit conflict? Would you be able to provide a reason that you undid these? I can p...
2 ~ 15 days agojjyach These were just noted differences from road use plans done by the City of Aurora and Arapahoe County based on their tiered systems of how these roads are intended to be used. Namely if there are no driveways on a road and it's purpose is to flow traffic from neighborhoods to collectors or high...

That's definitely fair, and I'll keep this in mind. There are some that I might disagree with (e.g. upgrading Himalaya between Quincy and Hampden to secondary since it doesn't even have a center line), but not worth edit warring over.

I'd appreciate if you can leave a changese...
4 ~ 15 days agojjyach That section is just an odd doughnut hole of unincorporated Arapahoe County squished between Centennial and Aurora. It has high traffic counts but is neglected by the county and it has far more cars traversing it than the section south of Quincy. Since road categories feed into routing algorithms ...

Hello, please do not map "express" lanes if there is no physical barrier between them and the main road. Bing Maps Aerial shows that paint is the only separator between the express lanes and the "main" lanes. Please read this for more info: https://osm.wiki/Editing_Standards_and_...
2 ~ 5 months agojjyach I understand but you marked the express lanes as hov and they are only tolls not hov. CDOT is also proposing putting in physical dividers onto them to cut off lane crossers. This is also keeping it consistent with all of the other express lanes on I-70 and I-25. Your changes were screwing up rout...

When mapped as a single way, change:lanes=* and other *:lanes=* tags can be used to accurately represent the situation on-the ground.

If there are not physical barriers on the ground, this should likely be a single way in each direction.
4 ~ 5 months agojjyach There are not yet any physical barriers, but they are under serious discussion to be implemented soon per CDOT's CTIO office.

I am open to mapping it any which way, but regardless there needs to be tags/markings to signify that the left lanes are tolled

Here's how to tell OSM that the leftmost two lanes of a six-lane freeway are tolled:

lanes=6
toll:lanes=yes|yes|no|no|no|no
change:lanes=yes|not_right|not_left|yes|yes|yes

I hope this helps!

I'm not super familiar with the rules for freeway mapping since I mostly map 4x4 roads, but I would think the express lanes on C470 should be mapped separately. They are separated from the free lanes by double white lines it's illegal to cross and have designated entry and exit points...

♦507
Honestly I think it would be better supported if they were separate ways. But, according to convention, the way to designate the entry-exit points is change:lanes=*

One of the reasons I started isolating out unit numbers in strip malls is because the units generally stay the same much longer than the occupants.
2 ~ 9 months agojjyach Then change the business to an address if it changes or is empty, Otherwise things are double tagged, and you do not have the full address. Just putting a unit address with no other details throws constant QA errors and is unacceptable to do like that on here.
3 ~ 9 months agojjyach It's also better to change the existing node too to preserve it's history rather than deleting and re-creating

These parking lot areas should be combined. It should be one large area that is connected to a roadway and encompasses almost all the parking spots. Individual spots can be mapped, but it should be individual, and not bunches of spots like this.

Please do not undo edits if you aren’t aware of the current road alignment, or mapping practices. Good mapping practice says that unless physically separated from the road, lanes should not be mapped independently from each other, all the right turn lanes mapped along Parker and Arapahoe rd ma...
2 ~ 1 year agojjyach This is done this way for nav/routing systems to alert people to the junction and to make the lane change. This is how it is done all across the map so it it being consistent with everywhere else. It may look messy but it does a function. I live right here and driver this daily.
3 ~ 1 year agojjyach I reverted your change back but also fixed the routing error you caused that prompted my change as you did not adjust the lanes, nor turn the restrictions on the lanes which threw that error

Yes! This was my experience here in WA so I'm kinda on a mission. If there's a few I can't track down in the area I may ping you to see if you want to do some surveying. ;-)
