12018-04-09 12:41:44 UTCSomeoneElse Hello counter_striker and welcome to OSM,
"cars are seen on road" does not imply "Motor vehicle = yes". It might be any sort of access, including private.
Please don't make changes like this based on guesswork.
Best Regards,
Andy
22018-04-10 00:57:45 UTCcounter_striker Changing the access to private as per your comment.
Thanks for correcting me.
32018-04-10 06:47:27 UTCSomeoneElse Hello counter_striker,
It's not enough just to say "Thanks for correcting me" - you also need to explain why you make changes like this in future. You're still doing this - see for example https://www.openstreetmap.org/changeset/57960469 .
Best Regards,
Andy
42018-04-13 08:23:23 UTCcounter_striker I have been following the previous editors. I did not see anybody writing explanations for the edits. However, I am doing the edits based on the evidence(imagery). Looks like, OSM does not encourage new talents :(
52018-04-13 08:46:57 UTCSomeoneElse Hello counter_striker,
Thanks for your reply.
OSM very much encourages new editors, but we'd definitely encourage you to map your local area first so that you can see how things look in aerial imagery relates to how they really are on the ground.
Also, some of the places that you are mapping in (...
62018-04-13 08:54:25 UTCSomeoneElse One more thing - your edits seem to be part of a series of co-ordinated edits, some of which mappers have suggested might be in error. Some people in the OSM community have suspected that you're part of this group and are being paid to make these edits.
If you make worldwide changes that are in er...
72018-04-14 21:55:30 UTCcounter_striker I have updated my bio with my information. I hope all the prejudice got some clarity.

12018-04-10 06:47:53 UTCSomeoneElse Hello counter_striker,
What was the source of the changes here?
Best Regards,
Andy
22018-04-10 07:47:16 UTCcounter_striker I have used the street sign at the entrance of Broughton street to change the access.
32018-04-12 12:02:51 UTCSomeoneElse Where did you see the street sign?
42018-04-13 08:14:40 UTCcounter_striker Please turn on the - Traffic Sign Overlay (Mapillary) then you'll see the sign between the nodes(https://www.openstreetmap.org/node/3426585989 and https://www.openstreetmap.org/node/3561544523)
52018-04-13 09:17:51 UTCSomeoneElse That's from November 2016 though - are you sure it is still accurate? The person who took the photo looks like they might be an OSM mapper - maybe ask them or leave an OSM note so that someone local to the area can check? There are lots of mappers in Edinburgh - if a note appears it normally gets ...
62018-04-13 09:24:18 UTCSomeoneElse Looking a bit closer - it's probably related to the changes in https://www.openstreetmap.org/changeset/51851320 (by the same person that took the mapillary photo). I've asked there.
Best Regards,
Andy
72018-04-13 09:41:50 UTCdrnoble This road has been open for some time. I've made a few updates to the temporary arrangements based on the current state
82018-04-13 09:44:14 UTCdrnoble Note also that the tram on York Place has been operational for several years now, and the extension down Leith Walk isn't yet approved.
The construction work here relates to the redevelopment of Picardy Place as part of the ongoing St James Centre redevelopment
92018-04-13 09:54:11 UTCSomeoneElse @drnoble brilliant, thanks!
102018-04-13 09:58:58 UTCSomeoneElse @counter_striker - where is the iD that you are using hosted? It says you're using 2.4.1, but the current osm.org version is version 2.7.1.
112018-04-13 10:47:40 UTCcounter_striker I am unaware about this version thing. could you please throw some light on it.
122018-04-13 11:27:54 UTCSomeoneElse If you click the "Edit" button above ^^ you'll get iD 2.7.1. What website are you looking at before you go into the iD editor?
132018-04-14 21:54:10 UTCcounter_striker Actually, I am not seeing any iD. It is simply navigating into the edit window. All I see is "Zoom in to edit"

PS: I have always been logged in. I hope that's not an issue.
142018-04-14 22:31:02 UTCSomeoneElse "iD" is the name of the editor. Move the mouse to the bottom right hand corner of the window of the latest version and it says "What's new in iD 2.7.1".
The question, though, is what site are you on before you start editing OSM data? It's clearly not this one...
152018-04-16 00:54:05 UTCcounter_striker Okay. I understood. I am seeing iD 2.7.1 and its taking me to another page(https://github.com/openstreetmap/iD) when clicked.
162018-04-16 08:57:35 UTCSomeoneElse Thanks.
That doesn't explain why all your changesets show "iD 2.4.1" though. Which website are you using that starts iD 2.4.1 for you?
172018-04-16 10:25:36 UTCcounter_striker I am using Open Street Map website(https://www.openstreetmap.org/edit?changeset=57960469#map=19/55.95623/-3.18722)
Not sure about the iD 2.4.1. I might have to recheck my changesets once.
182018-04-16 10:28:46 UTCSomeoneElse > I am using Open Street Map website
Unfortunately, I don't believe that you are.
Either you're using some sort of captive portal that points www.openstreetmap.org somewhere else, or you're not being entirely honest with us here.
192018-04-16 10:51:19 UTCcounter_striker Well, I would have shared my screen if there was an option to. Tell me if something is going wrong from my end. And also suggest me to have my iD as 2.7.1. Thanks.
202018-04-16 11:09:17 UTCSomeoneElse Yes - posting a screenshot at an image sharing site might help.
In the meantime though, can't you just tell us who is asking you to make these edits? We'd like to help them understand a bit more about OSM, but can't do that if we don't know who they are.
212018-04-17 01:03:09 UTCcounter_striker I have tried to see the iD. It's now 2.8.0. Let me remind you that, I am performing these edits on my own based on OSM wiki pages. I am jobless, trying to learn and contribute.
222018-04-17 08:13:27 UTCSomeoneElse We're grateful for your contributions, but would like to have answers to the questions raised above. A number of other mappers seem to be making the same mistakes as you did here, and it looks like you're editing based on requests from someone else. We'd like to help whoever that is more about OSM...

12018-04-16 10:08:34 UTCSomeoneElse Hello again,
As discussed in https://www.openstreetmap.org/changeset/57960469 you're still using iD 2.4.1 here.
Can you explain why?
Best Regards,
Andy
12018-04-12 08:10:10 UTCNakaner Hi counter_striker,

you seem to be part of a organized or commercial editing activity. Please add a note to your profile page at https://www.openstreetmap.org/user/counter_striker (editable via https://www.openstreetmap.org/user/counter_striker/account) which states which company/organisation you...

22018-04-11 08:54:23 UTCcounter_striker Hi gormo, I have marked the parking lot as you suggested. Thanks.
