♦181		Yes, you need your Facebooks GPS on. Go to your phone settings, find the setting for all the apps, find facebook in the list of apps and turn on geolocation. Your issue has nothing to do with Openstreetmap.

82025-12-20 23:38commentedRob176I just tried the location icon here and now it allowed me to pin the blue location dot to my rental address where before it said location was dissallowed. Why and how could that have been??? I will edit my Marketplace ad and toggle address off & back on in the Hope's that the Mp ad profile viewing map and Openstreets public search map "Shake Hands". Will be back to report the outcome. Might have to delete and repost ad as well as give MP some extended time to be sure I'm reporting the correct results here. Who knows, it may help a lot of other's having the same issue/s. Thnx all! Rob

♦181		Your issue seems unrelated to Open Street Map. The postal code isn't the reason the ad is not showing up. The "Geolocation Error" is because you didn't press "Allow" on your phone when it asked you if facebook can see your location, it's completely unrelated.

I'm not really dead-set on it, if only because not all backyard/garden suites are laneway houses and it feels silly to have house=laneway_house, house=backyard_suite, and maybe others. There was some tagging discussion on Github https://github.com/openstreetmap/id-tagging-schema/pull/1422#issuecomment-2658116635 and in wiki (currently down). As a result https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Proposal:Accessory_Dwelling_Unit was created, but I don't remember what it suggested and the wiki is currently down... Some thoughts because I can't read the wiki... Ultimately a laneway/backyard house isn't much different from a regular house. The distinction of being the second house on a property isn't _quite_ relevant to OSM. One distinction is possible lack of unique address, whether for mail delivery or for emergency location. In Vancouver laneway houses can be assigned distinct house numbers, but I don't know if they get mail to the door. If Calgary laneway/backyard don't get distinct addresses, we could tag them with same address as the primary house?

The reason why the school grounds were tagged "Career and Technology Centre" and the school building itself was tagged "Lord Shaughnessy High School" was to differentiate between the school as an institution from the building within which it is based. In most cases this would be superfluous, for example at Central Memorial just north of here: the building is Central Memorial High School, and the school institution is Central Memorial High School. However, in the case of the CTC/Lord Shaughnessy High, there is a distinction to be made. "Lord Shaughnessy High School" as an institution no longer exists: it has no staff, it has no students. The CTC on the other hand has staff and students, who just happen to use the facilities at the Lord Shaughnessy High School building.
