In this case, it would even be possible without any problems, as the path is unnecessarily split at the border in question. But the real problem is this: if @JDonovan does not say which software and data he is working with, we cannot help. Referring to notes that have already been closed (without mentioning the numbers) is unproductive. Please provide verifiable facts and expectations. | 10 | ~ 10 months ago | commented | JDonovan ♦2 | We had a geocode issue for Grandview St Lowell MA in our Tyler Technologies 311 system which uses Open Street map as one of their base maps for geocoding 311 calls, all 311 application Grandview Street searches in Lowell were returning only Dracut as a option in the base map in open street map the Grandview street geocode search for Lowell MA appears to now be resolved though the zip code needs to be updated for Lowell MA portion of Grandview Street to 01850 | |

Is the Nominatim search (used via the API) used, or does the system have its own search? Is there an example of a street that returns correct results? It could be that only the first state is mentioned. What does the software manufacturer say about this? Documentation. You can search for those with an Overpass Turbo query. How Nominatim uses postcodes. Additionally supplemented by data derived from US Census (TIGER) data. The postcode 01850 is entered at a very large distance from the street in question (see https://overpass-turbo.eu/s/2gBs). Unfortunately, the keys tiger:zip_left, tiger:zip_right or postal_code, which are common in the USA, are not available for streets, so I cannot verify this. And before you change it, please note that this information is only modified every 24 hours. I have now assigned the address with the postcode 01850 to McDermott Reservoir Park based on the source https://www.mypacer.com/parks/111468/mcdermott-reservoir-park-lowell. This may be sufficient. Please provide further validated (!) postcode entries for this city. | |
