Do the rail platforms extend under the building?

So is that a yea or a nay?

Sorry, still new to this. And I thought someone else already commented to you. Platform 1 does not extend under the building while platforms 2 and 3 do extend under it. You cannot directly access platform 1 via the other platforms as you have to walk through the shopping centre and out and then you access platform 1 via the side street. I hope this answers your query?

Isn't there a gate to cross the track & access the cottage?
9931811~ 9 years agoopened---https://www.openstreetmap.org/directions?engine=mapzen_foot&route=51.38333%2C-2.36414%3B51.38350%2C-2.36310#map=19/51.38357/-2.36366 Maybe footpaths are needed?

Tried adding ways to the edge of the highway=pedestrian area? Routers really should be able to navigate across them without specific paths
3~ 9 years agocommentedDaveF
♦703
Further testing: https://www.openstreetmap.org/directions?engine=mapzen_foot&route=51.38655%2C-2.35112%3B51.38531%2C-2.35038#map=18/51.38601/-2.35093 I see this as a Mapzen problem which they need to correct.
4~ 7 years agocommented---No router will be able to route across the pedestrian area, because it is an island at the moment. There need to be some connections to the rest of the highways. Also, some routers may take a bollard and a fence as a serious barrier.
5~ 3 years agoclosedbc1829
♦15
I've replaced the pedestrian area with footpaths, connected it to the roads and corrected the mapping of the fence. That should fix the issues mentioned on this note.

♦703
There was no problem with the mapping for routers. There were connections from road ways to the pedestrian area, and the area can be successfully navigated in exactly the same way as roundabouts. You've deleted valid data for fake reasons.
8~ 3 years agocommentedbc1829
♦15
My apologies; thanks for responding! Would you like me to revert the change? I thought the footpaths made more sense as that might be a more useful semantic description for a number of long, thin interconnected pedestrian areas and also could represent the same feature more compactly from a data point of view. What do you think would need to be changed to resolve this note?

♦1,838
I have added footpaths going through the square; if footways are mapped as areas they still need linear highway=footways passing through them to be routable, this is common practice. https://www.openstreetmap.org/changeset/183270372

Almost all of them. https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Key:area#Routers You can see how the three routers on osm.org refuse to route through the pedestrian area multipolygon.

Is there a public accessible footpath running parallel to the tracks?
2~ 3 months agocommentedJames Derrick

No, I suspect you may be looking at a construction haul road now reinstated. The pway has a stone wall N and metal fence S with barely enough for 2x tracks. Attached photo(s): https://streetcomplete.app/p/337872.jpg https://streetcomplete.app/p/337873.jpg

Ah - I've got a photo of Platform 2's emergency exit just opposite from the signal box. There's also the remains of a construction compound next to Blenheim drive which I've added. I've got a load of timelapse images to upload which should help - watch Mapillary, and might try https://panoramax.fr . Coming soon! Happy Mapping, James

Is this service road still there? From old streeview images it looks like it led to an underground car park, but architectural images of the proposals appear to have removed it. Is it still in operation?

Are /all/ platforms split into sub-letters & are they all just a & b?
2~ 5 months agocommentedij96
♦108
Was there today and saw signs for platforms 1 (used to be 1a, one of the signs clearly had the old letter “a” taped over), 1b, 2a, 2b, 3a, 3b, 4a, and 4b. However on the service announcement screen I saw some trains stopping at platform 4 without any letters, not sure if this is referring to both platforms.
