~ 1 month ago | commented | OSMuser77 ♦48 | Sorry, still new to this. And I thought someone else already commented to you. Platform 1 does not extend under the building while platforms 2 and 3 do extend under it. You cannot directly access platform 1 via the other platforms as you have to walk through the shopping centre and out and then you access platform 1 via the side street. I hope this answers your query? |

~ 9 years ago | commented | DaveF ♦703 | Tried adding ways to the edge of the highway=pedestrian area? Routers really should be able to navigate across them without specific paths |
~ 9 years ago | commented | DaveF ♦703 | Further testing: https://www.openstreetmap.org/directions?engine=mapzen_foot&route=51.38655%2C-2.35112%3B51.38531%2C-2.35038#map=18/51.38601/-2.35093 I see this as a Mapzen problem which they need to correct. |
~ 7 years ago | commented | --- | No router will be able to route across the pedestrian area, because it is an island at the moment. There need to be some connections to the rest of the highways. Also, some routers may take a bollard and a fence as a serious barrier. |
~ 3 years ago | closed | bc1829 ♦15 | I've replaced the pedestrian area with footpaths, connected it to the roads and corrected the mapping of the fence. That should fix the issues mentioned on this note. |
~ 3 years ago | reopened | DaveF ♦703 | |
~ 3 years ago | commented | DaveF ♦703 | There was no problem with the mapping for routers. There were connections from road ways to the pedestrian area, and the area can be successfully navigated in exactly the same way as roundabouts. You've deleted valid data for fake reasons. |
~ 3 years ago | commented | bc1829 ♦15 | My apologies; thanks for responding! Would you like me to revert the change? I thought the footpaths made more sense as that might be a more useful semantic description for a number of long, thin interconnected pedestrian areas and also could represent the same feature more compactly from a data point of view. What do you think would need to be changed to resolve this note? |

~ 1 month ago | closed | LordGarySugar ♦1,838 | I have added footpaths going through the square; if footways are mapped as areas they still need linear highway=footways passing through them to be routable, this is common practice. https://www.openstreetmap.org/changeset/183270372 |

~ 1 month ago | commented | LordGarySugar ♦1,838 | Almost all of them. https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Key:area#Routers You can see how the three routers on osm.org refuse to route through the pedestrian area multipolygon. |

However on the service announcement screen I saw some trains stopping at platform 4 without any letters, not sure if this is referring to both platforms. | |
