"The south pedestrian walkway on the Ben Franklin Bridge, the one with the ramp accessible for bikes, etc. has been open since May, I think: https://www.drpa.org/news/news.asp?param=2&num=9619 Certainly it was open today when I biked across it, and I saw no remaining signs of closure. Yet when I try to plan a bike trip using it, Organic Maps routes me far out of my way to a different bridge, Tacony-Palmyra, instead. It seems to believe the bridge is still closed. (Google Maps tries to send me over the north side of the bridge with stairs, instead. I think the north side might actually be closed for construction now, but I didn't check personally, because that's a terrible route if you can't easily carry your bicycle.)" Is this still a problem for Organic Maps?
32025-01-02 02:23commentedskyfaller

Yes. I just tried it again with Organic Maps now, 2024.11.27-12-FDroid. Still sending me to Tacony-Palmyra bridge, even if I add a stop directly on the walkway of the Ben Franklin Bridge.

I tried it myself just now it kept sending me via the ferry by bike but when I switched to walking I was routed across the bridge. I looked at the path and didn't see anything strange. Bikes are access=yes for part of the path and access=designated for the New Jersey side. There's bollard mapped in the path on the New Jersey side but bollard is tagged bike access=yes. Bike access should be changed to either yes or designated for the entire path but I have no idea if this would affect routing.

Hi folks! I had the same problem months ago but only saw this note today. I believe I fixed things in a changeset earlier this year. https://www.openstreetmap.org/changeset/170411186 Let me know if youse have any more problems or if it's good enough to resolve the note!

I just tried CoMaps, 2025.11.25-4-FDroid, and I just updated its maps. If I enable ferries, bicycle directions takes the ferry. If I disable ferries, it still routes me to Tacony-Palmyra.

Bummer. It works great for me in RidewithGPS and BRouter.

Wait, sorry, if I add a stop on the Ben Franklin, it now will let me bike over the bridge. I guess this is just the shitty bicycle routing again, not the map's fault.

These paths need GPS traces to be sure of their tracks and names. https://highbridge.org/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/Commons-Hiking-Biking-Trails-2020.pdf

There are undocumented grass trails in this park. I might get around to mapping them later, but anyone else is welcome to as well. via StreetComplete 60.3 Attached photo(s): https://streetcomplete.app/p/280500.jpg

This and other areas on Lincoln Ave incorrectly mark the whole stretch as having a bike lane when it ends near the intersection
22025-11-05 21:08commentedBPTT
♦31
This is probably okay. If we wanted to be perfectly accurate about it, we could cut the standard bike lanes off at each block where loses the righthand lane line as it approaches the intersection, and tag that short segment as a shared lane. But this would be a lot extra work! Your call ;)

I honestly don’t remember creating this and don’t think it’s worth the extra work, so I’ll resolve!

As of 2023, Gracy Farms Lane has a two-way bike lane beginning at Burnet and continuing southbound. (Northbound GFL maintains its one-way bike lane.) How far does this new two-way bike lane go? To Hobby Horse, Stonehollow, Metric Blvd, or further? It will need to be added to Bike Route #6, and probably remapped separately. There is no current consensus on two-way bike lanes that are on the roadway but unprotected. If it were protected or separated from the roadway, it would need to be mapped as a separate feature.

esri imagery is updated now - it looks like it only goes to the first mid-block crossing a few hundred feet south of this note, and then ends.

This arrangement of the intersection doesn't allow for an easy slight right from southbound MLK onto N 6th.

Pylons here have orange and blue blazes on them, and the capital letter H. Bass River SF is not supposed to have any marked trails, so what do these correspond to?

According to documents on the park website there are 23 miles of blazed trails in Bass River SP. Link to document: https://www.nj.gov/dep/parksandforests/maps/trailguides/bassriver_brochure_text.pdf Link to SP website: https://www.nj.gov/dep/parksandforests/parks/bassriverstateforest.html Personally I would have just called the park office if I had a question about park signage. Here's the phone # 609-296-1114 If you would rather email, here's the park's email address: BassRiverCamping@dep.nj.gov

Hi, thanks! I'm familiar with these documents, but I should have clarified: BRSF have been very clear about the northern area of the forest (north of Warren Grove) as having no designated trails. So a mystery is afoot!

When imagery updates, more details are needed here re: boom gate, one-way service roads in/out, fences, etc.

Is there anything left to fix here?
32025-05-27 15:40commentedBPTT

Good catch. I'm not sure. Have all the right roads and paths been marked as private? Some of the paths look inconsistent. I'm not super familiar with this area.

It's great that these MTB trails are grouped into a local bike route relation ("MTU Trails") but it would be better for each to be split into its own MTB relation. That way, they will render at orange (MTB) instead of blue (bike) routes, and greater detail can be added. For instance, network=MTU Trails, network-class=local, and reference number = the initials of the route name (e.g. Hairy Toad Loop = HTL). Note that OpenCycleMap can only render a max of 3 digitals/initials but CyclOSM will render a max of 4 (unless I'm mistaken and vice versa).

Does Green Bank State Forest still exist? Was it incorporated into Wharton State Forest? I can find no current and credible sources for information about it, nor maps showing its boundaries or extent. If it no longer exists, the node underneath this note pin should be removed.

A number of years ago I asked someone who knows a lot about the area, and he told me that yes Green Bank State Forest was absorbed into Wharton State Forest. But the node you found is not actually inside Wharton - it is inside Swan Bay WMA. I think it is safe to say Green Bank SF does not exist anymore, despite being in GNIS, but I would not trust the part about all of it being in Wharton.
