1 | ~ 4 years ago | opened | DougGrinbergs ♦96 | Asked about getting some EV chargers and learned that they're coming in the near future.
~ 4 years ago | commented | DougGrinbergs ♦96 | Earth Day update: seems chargers may only arrive in the fall (:-( |
~ 3 years ago | commented | CurlingMan13 ♦53,630 | Have they arrived by now? |
~ 2 years ago | commented | phidauex ♦465 | Still not present, though the conduit appears to be stubbed up for two chargers, and one has a 14-50R outlet on it (though I didn't test it). |
~ 1 year ago | commented | CurlingMan13 ♦53,630 | what about now? |
~ 11 months ago | commented | dannmer ♦18,996 | Any updates on the charger? |
~ 6 months ago | commented | TheNightRider ♦159 | Are they up? If so, are they free or metered? If metered, are they ChargePoint or some other operator? |
~ 6 months ago | commented | phidauex ♦465 | Not here yet. Honestly at this point I wouldn't hold your breath. There are some outlets so an intrepid soul could plug in with their own charger if needed, but there doesn't seem to be any momentum for installing permanent chargers (which makes sense, most people aren't going to be here long enough to meaningfully charge, and the employees who might benefit from it would be parking on the north side, not the customer parking area). |
~ 6 months ago | commented | TheNightRider ♦159 | Makes sense. There's still confusion about what types of chargers make sense for a location. DCFC makes sense when you're on a trip, want to charge fast, then be on your way. L2 makes sense when you're going to be somewhere for a few hours, like at a cinema or shopping center. |
~ 6 months ago | commented | TheNightRider ♦159 | Should we resolve this note or leave it open? I'm OK with either. |
~ 3 months ago | closed | phidauex ♦465 | I'm going to close, no sign at all that chargers are coming. Can always readd if they show up someday! |

~ 6 months ago | commented | DougGrinbergs ♦96 | unlike most other recent construction projects I tend to see locally, pleased to see fairly recent sat images available - Esri World. It would be cool if you could select a construction area and request recent sat images to help document changes, perhaps in conjunction with GPS track, DIY ground truth images. |
~ 6 months ago | commented | bdentremont ♦2,349 | That would be cool. However, the imagery you are looking at was nearly certainly shot by aircraft, which limits the update time on sources such as ESRI and Bing. True satellite imagery, available commercially, is limited in resolution to about a foot (e.g. Worldview-3), so if you are seeing details such as parking lot stripes on the internet, that's not from space. |
~ 6 months ago | commented | phidauex ♦465 | Made some improvements based on the new imagery. I've always thought it would be an interesting feature to allow people to "bid" on the next location to be imaged, and if enough people bid on it, they bump it up in priority. Big companies can of course just pay for a new flight, but something like that would let a lot of little guys participate. Practically speaking though, flying your own drone and contributing to openaerialmap would probably be the fastest. I've been out of the drone game for about 5 years and I'm sure things have come a long way. |
