Asked about getting some EV chargers and learned that they're coming in the near future.

Earth Day update: seems chargers may only arrive in the fall (:-(
3~ 3 years agocommentedCurlingMan13
♦53,630
Have they arrived by now?
4~ 2 years agocommentedphidauex
♦465
Still not present, though the conduit appears to be stubbed up for two chargers, and one has a 14-50R outlet on it (though I didn't test it).

♦53,630
what about now?
6~ 11 months agocommenteddannmer
♦18,996
Any updates on the charger?
7~ 6 months agocommentedTheNightRider
♦159
Are they up? If so, are they free or metered? If metered, are they ChargePoint or some other operator?
8~ 6 months agocommentedphidauex
♦465
Not here yet. Honestly at this point I wouldn't hold your breath. There are some outlets so an intrepid soul could plug in with their own charger if needed, but there doesn't seem to be any momentum for installing permanent chargers (which makes sense, most people aren't going to be here long enough to meaningfully charge, and the employees who might benefit from it would be parking on the north side, not the customer parking area).
9~ 6 months agocommentedTheNightRider
♦159
Makes sense. There's still confusion about what types of chargers make sense for a location. DCFC makes sense when you're on a trip, want to charge fast, then be on your way. L2 makes sense when you're going to be somewhere for a few hours, like at a cinema or shopping center.

♦159
Should we resolve this note or leave it open? I'm OK with either.
11~ 3 months agoclosedphidauex
♦465
I'm going to close, no sign at all that chargers are coming. Can always readd if they show up someday!

unlike most other recent construction projects I tend to see locally, pleased to see fairly recent sat images available - Esri World. It would be cool if you could select a construction area and request recent sat images to help document changes, perhaps in conjunction with GPS track, DIY ground truth images.
3~ 6 months agocommentedbdentremont
♦2,349
That would be cool. However, the imagery you are looking at was nearly certainly shot by aircraft, which limits the update time on sources such as ESRI and Bing. True satellite imagery, available commercially, is limited in resolution to about a foot (e.g. Worldview-3), so if you are seeing details such as parking lot stripes on the internet, that's not from space.
4~ 6 months agocommentedphidauex
♦465
Made some improvements based on the new imagery. I've always thought it would be an interesting feature to allow people to "bid" on the next location to be imaged, and if enough people bid on it, they bump it up in priority. Big companies can of course just pay for a new flight, but something like that would let a lot of little guys participate. Practically speaking though, flying your own drone and contributing to openaerialmap would probably be the fastest. I've been out of the drone game for about 5 years and I'm sure things have come a long way.

Partial view available in the NAIP imagery. I updated the building footprint and new road alignments. Will still need fine tuning, but much closer now.

Does this crossing still exist?
2~ 6 months agoclosedphidauex
♦465
No, I don't think it was ever an actual crossing, just a part of the concrete drainage system that looks like a crossing on imagery. Cleaned up.

I was able to confirm it exists but was not able to get gps traces. What would you like to do about this note? Here is updated imagery but I don't feel comfortable or have the skills to trace that out yet. https://map.openaerialmap.org/#/-156.44995003938675,20.76205551007974,18/square/02230000323113312212?_k=o6eb0c

Do you know if it is marked or unmarked?
5~ 11 months agocommenteddannmer
♦18,996
Mapillary imagery taken by note author shows a marked crossing. Tagged as marked
6~ 11 months agoclosedphidauex

Made a few tweaks, and I think it correctly matches the new situation there, it is indeed marked (I've ridden by, and been on the new trail).

is "north 3rd street" actually the name of these buildings or was it done by mistake?
2~ 11 months agoclosedphidauex

Looks like they were accidentally merged with a road feature at some point, cleaned up.
