In Ireland, a bothy was typically a very primitive shelter, often made with the available materials, typically loose rocks and sods of grass. They were used by herders who would spend much of the summer on a mountain with cattle, sheep or goats. This building seems to be a cottage, not a bothy. | |

It was kind of an old "hunter's hut" that has been rehabilited by the employees of the National park of Glenveagh. Inside you can find a table with benches and some info about flowers, animals, the history of the park... The deer stalkers hut is what it was called on an info panel, and bothy is what several people called it in the "golden book" left there for visitors to write a note. Sorry, English is not my native language, I assumed bothy was the correct word and what I read in the Wiktionary seemed to be well suited.
