♦648		OP here... Looks like both directions of MO AA should reach the northern freeway ramps, and both directions of MO BB should reach the southern freeway ramps. This creates a short concurrency between MO AA and US 40 as well as between MO AA and BB under the interstate. There should be no concurrency between MO BB and US 40. As far as valid, I've found discrepancies before between MoDOT's own travelway data and Bing StreetSide for supplemental state route designations. Combined with open MoDOT data indicating the southern terminus for DD lies at Lake Bluff Drive, I'm convinced State Route DD terminates here. But it also seems that Stone County continues a "DD" designation as part of its county network all the way to Coney Island. This would not be part of the state supplemental route network. There is precedent for this phenomenon with State Route CC in Jefferson County (way/18526984): North of US 67, we have County Road CC; south, we have State Route CC. I think we should change the ref tag south of this note to "CR DD" and mayhap even consider a route relation with network=US:MO:Stone.

♦648		@greatnameguys Similar situation, but I think it happened through a different process. State Route N used to reach Platte City, but it was truncated at some point and now terminates at Route D. This is reflected in MoDOT data, and you can follow the signs on Bing StreetSide to confirm. OSM seems to have chosen "Old State Highway N" as the name of the northern stretch, which I think is fine. The tag old_ref="MO N" is also warranted imho @Baloo I don't know much about WA, but MO supplemental routes ("lettered routes") don't always behave like normal state highways. To quote MO's MUTCD, "[u]sually, but not always, double letter routes are farm to market roads that end at county roads" (MoDOT EPG 943.1). It's pretty normal for the pavement on these routes to unceremoniously end and dump you into a tangle of county roads. There's usually a little M19-2 sign that says "MoDOT Maintenance Ends" right next to the pavement transition. Hence why I was focusing on pavement: it's not sufficient to prove a handoff of authority, but that's where it'd be if one exists.

You can also make out the little 'maintenance ends' sign in the distance Putting it all together, I now think an appropriate tagging setup would be to split DD at this point, replace ref="MO DD" to the south with ref="LR DD-25", add a route relation with ref="DD" and network="US:MO:Supplemental" from this point north to MO 13, and add name="State Highway DD" (or loc_name?) from this point to Coney Island to address the local familiarity issue while not affecting semantics of supplemental route tagging (@Baloo We've both nuked a lot of redundant name="State Highway XX" tags, but this would be an exception) Thoughts?

If there is construction past the northern end, yeah I think it's fine to show that too. There should be ramps at US 67 too, so when the Corning Bypass opens in two years, the segment between US 62/67 and US 67 can be eventually shown as open, with construction continuing passing that point.

Also, in OSM, Shawnee Park in the same city combines the golf course and the main part of the park together. While separating them may be practical for map purposes, it causes a problem for boundary display in Wikipedia. For this park, for instance, it only shows the boundary for the park without the golf course, and that is misleading, when we're stating as fact that the golf course is part of the park.

♦12,272		oops hit wrong button. Well the problem is that when people are drawing these (no, they are not AI generated) it's not known whether any particular park is related to the golf course. People just draw what's there. Only upon some research may someone find that the park and golf course are related -- but it's not always the case. I sort of ran into this problem with another golf course/park that I've been to. It wasn't until some research that I found the golf course and the park are indeed both maintained by the local government. however without that research it would not have been possible to know. You are always welcome to stitch the two together. Note this probably requires some effort to do so, as well as making sure the boundary is still there (what is in bounds and out of bounds is still important in golf)...

This is similar to building parts, which are areas within a larger building. I think that in these cases, it's important that the outline nodes are shared. That said, I just started mapping too, so I'm figuring this out as well.

♦9		I’m not sure how to handle this road name. At the traffic lights, the signage indicates it is called “Hedge Lane Road”, Other intersections in town refer to it as "Hedge Lane”. The map on the city’s webpage uses “Hedge Lane Rd”, and the city's map has “S Hedge Lane Rd” between Baptist Drive and the transition to Holly Lane. But the south designation isn’t on any signage, “Road” or no. I discovered the South designation because the Arby’s POI here has “South Hedge Lane” for the address.

♦3,174		Usually we go off the most common sign. If you're using it to navigate and see the sign you won't be confused that you're on the wrong road. Don't be afraid to split up the road and tag separate sections if you want. You can add the rest of the names on alt_name tag separated by semi colons. There are a lot of other name tags (old_name, official_name, etc) that you can look up. Also, if you're local, contact the city and let them know. I have had a couple signs changed trying to resolve discrepancies.

Here's a link to the name tags. https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Key:name I mainly use name, old_name (for renames), alt_name, official_name (mostly for ramps/frontage roads) and short_name tags. Well I use short_name more frequently for businesses. But you can get really far with just name and alt_name. I will also put common misspellings on alt_name. Or if a street is signed "1st Street", I'll add "First street." and vice versa.

Not every single grassy spot in the whole subdivision like it's currently mapped. A lot what's currently mapped as Willow Wood Park is people's back yards, old alley's, and just grass on the side of a road next to a fence. Like along North 132nd Street. The park tag isn't meant to apply to everything "grassy." Let alone should a whole large area be mapped as one continuous park like it is here. Grass or not.

Whatever the copyright status of the GIS site's data is, the way it's currently mapped still doesn't fit OSMs definition or use case of park mapping. It's not like we can't re-map what is actually parks fairly well without the GIS data anyway if need be. I have less of an issue maybe accidentally leaving out a tiny bit of park until someone on the ground can fix it then I do leaving a clearly wrongly mapped area on the map for an extremely long period of time.

♦12,272		My take is that this "park" isn't really a park but actually a development/neighborhood - a "park" usually implies anyone could use it and I think it was intended for residents only. The "green" areas are probably just should be natural=grass or maybe leisure=common at most, and the whole area needs landuse=residential ?
