It introduces some really sharp angled turns (New Road → Cable Street and Cable Street → bus station) and I’m not convinced it would represent reality any more accurately than the existing mapping. Does the existing mapping allow any vehicle routing or other interpretations of the data which are incorrect? While the existing mapping isn’t great in showing New Road and the bus station entrance as crossing over as separate roads, in reality it is a really hairy lane change when driving there, so it’s not really inaccurate.

	2	~ 11 months ago	commented	gurglypipe ♦1,897	It'll be a gate now. NTTrailsNTH is a National Trust user who will have surveyed the path before updating it. Additionally National Trust will have been gradually replacing stiles with gates on all their paths to improve accessibility. My guess would be that they simply forgot to remove the stile= tag when editing, but you should double check by messaging NTTrailsNTH.

They have a GIS team who have been surveying and updating their walking routes on OSM recently. They're very friendly and responsive!)
