Based on satellite aerial it is more likely abandoned due to overgrown mangroves surrounding some boat piers, however it is highly likely that the aerial was taken at low tide, & that some piers might still be in use. That's why I have edited it like so cause it's a "tidal" marina. | |

However I thinked I'd arrive at around low tide & wasn't able to see this marina at high tide when the marina is fully operational. I am going to leave this site as it is for now. | |

| 5 | ~ 7 months ago | commented | EleGlobe ♦48 | Based on the new Bing Aerial I assume that it isn't abandoned, I'm unsure in the south part of it, I think that we need one more new aerial from another background to clarify that it isn't so. I don't think Mangroves grow quickly to look like a standard residential garden bush & I would be surprised if the ones potentially cut down reemerge in the same spots in the next new aerials. Still the site doesn't look well maintained compared to other tidal marinas in the world, but the boats likely is, more so when the marina is dry. The river here has a high amount of sediments pumping out into the Firth which collects along the shore which grows the mangroves into place & overtime this shows as newly gained land as the shore moves cos of them & this Marina later is too far inland for to effectively run unless the town moves with it. I'm adding the following tags: tidal=yes, water=river & intermittent=yes to it for now. Also do you think the River Mouth & Shoreline South of it should shift? | |

This wiki page: http://osm.wiki/Tag:natural=coastline says that the coastline should be aligned to the MHWS (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chart_datum#Mean_high_water_springs), so the coastline should technically be shifted to the other side of the marina - but at the same time, this feels like a great example of wetland=tidalflat - so maybe the way you've tagged it is already perfect? i'm not really sure, but i think what you've done now looks pretty good | |
