~ 6 months ago | commented | TFI71 ♦49 | The intesion here was not have two waterway=access_points with the same name. But I can understand your confusion. I propose to change the names to Virksund Stand Syd and Virksund Strand Øst.. Please let me know if you have any comments. |
~ 6 months ago | commented | Lostmonkey ♦979 | Should they even be named? (Are they actually signed in place or on official maps?) |
~ 6 months ago | commented | TFI71 ♦49 | I think they sshould be named in a way that describes their lokation best. But removing the names might also be an option. As replied to you in the other comment I will also add the informal=yes tag as this part of the Limfjord watertrail is only poorly documeted by some lose nodes (kayak campsites). I cannot recall signs (normally there are none) but I talked to an local paddler who recomanded these to waterway=access_points. These also seams to be only feasable/public places where you can land in Virksund. |
~ 6 months ago | commented | TFI71 ♦49 | I checked yesterday on a kayak map which I bought for soame time agao, and they specify car parking for loading onn/off your kayak at this site. So I think the informal=yes tag is no longer needed here. This was also shown on the map extract which I sent to you in the other comment. https://www.kajaklimfjord.dk/index.php/forside-kort-5a-lovns-bredning |
~ 6 months ago | commented | Lostmonkey ♦979 | I'm not doubting that it can be used as a put in/egress for canoes. I was simply wondering if it's actually as the wiki-description says it should be: "signposted or structurally prepared for it." and if it is "signed or officially recognized" as the same wiki-page mentions for using the Name-tag. If none of those conditions are met, I would probably still argue, that it is informal. If it is simply a place where it is easy to reach the waters edge from a nearby parking, there must be countless of such places along the Danish coast. |
~ 6 months ago | commented | TFI71 ♦49 | "structurally prepared" YES, a beach is the perfect landing place for a kayak/SUP/etc. "signed" I do not beleive it is signed, normally they are not. "officially recognized" I think that depends how you interplret this (should be discuused in the chat group), I think we are in a gray zone here, but I see your point. I will keep/add the informal=yes. What about naming, can we also agree on somthing here? I would like to close this comment, as I will not be available the next 3 weeks. |
~ 6 months ago | commented | Lostmonkey ♦979 | Maybe it's because English is not my first language but by "structurally prepared" I clearly interpret it as something more that just naturally suitable, i.e. to some degree constructed/prepared by people. About the name, I would probably not add one if is an informal landing place but just my opinion, I could be wrong not having much experience with the mapping landing places. |
~ 6 months ago | commented | TFI71 ♦49 | Well there are signs with an official name, at least as I recall it, but it will be usefull as a unice reference. I will delete tha names for now. |
~ 6 months ago | commented | Lostmonkey ♦979 | By the way, I think it is ok to leave the note open if an inspection on site is still needed to check for signage. |
~ 6 months ago | commented | TFI71 ♦49 | I have updated these two canoe=put_in;egress sites, addeed infomal and deleted the names. Please have in mind that this discussion might also apply to some other sites. I will have a review later, but not now. Have a nice summer, or what is left of it.-) |
