Raven Records and China Remedy both have currently-active web sites that claim to be number 24 despite their position on OSM being 4 buildings apart. Along the street the mapping shows 20, 22, 24, a big gap, another 24, 26, 28, 30. A physical survey of this entire section is needed to check which of the businesses here are correctly aligned to their buildings and resolve any gaps.

That's why it needed to be reactivated. @allan20155: to resolve a note, you need to either confirm that the present mapping is correct, or to change it yourself -- in which case it's helpful to also say what you have done. A note can't sensibly be resolved without either a brief explanation, an update to the map, or preferably both. A web search suggests this might now be either Co-Op or My Pharmacy. I suspect it's the latter because co-op probably sold it to Well but we can't map without good evidence. If you're passing some time and see which one it is, you can either update it (and then mark it as resolved) or just say what is now there, but post it as a comment not as a resolution.

For example, Chingford Golf Club is, as its web page confirms, owned or managed by the City of London as part of Epping forest. There are also many other areas currently outside that boundary, but are accessed through paths or gates that are clearly labelled Epping Forest. I found a useful map https://www.cityoflondon.gov.uk/assets/Green-Spaces/epping-forest-map.pdf which clarifies the areas of the forest which are open to the public. We probably can't map anything directly from it without special permission, but it could at the least be used as a reference to determine areas currently not included in that boundary which could be visited to check signage or to research independently.

Though not quite as I expected from the video. https://www.openstreetmap.org/node/1701292819/ (Susannah Wesley Memorial) is not in the circular area directly in front of the gate. That is indeed John Wesley. Susannah's node is not a statue either. It is a memorial but does not have a statue or even a bust. It is more of an octagonal obelisk and has an inscription to say her remains are in the burial ground on the other side of City Road. I've repositioned her monument to the right of the gate nearer the fence, changed the tag to monument=obelisk and moved John Wesley into her place.

So unless there is official evidence of some sort (not obtained from third party maps) the name should revert to Charing Cross for its entire circumference. In https://osm-harg.uk/screenshots/note5466531.png I've found Basing House as a good reference point because it was already aligned to its cadastral. Mapbox has less parallax here so I've given it an offset -2.39; -0.60 (Bookmark: Basing House). Now look at building 17B in my screenshot. It clearly needed moving south, which I have done. I'm guessing that Junkies should move south with it, though that needs checking. I'm now able to draw in a building in the cadastral where the note is placed. I'm now puzzled by the diagonal of the Mixology Events polygon. It's not obvious where that diagonal came from so I've aligned it to mapbox making it more square. I've also split it into two buildings (one of which may or may not be part of Mixology) and constrained the south side to its cadastral which is also as it appears on mapbox. I'm not marking it as resolved for the moment, because all of the above ought to be verified on the ground.

I've provisionally put it there, but the buildings on this side of Argyle Square have no housenumbers and I suspect those nodes are not accurately positioned relative to the buildings. So a survey of housenumbers along this side of Argyle Square is needed (and the buildings need to be properly squared at the same time).

	2	~ 1 month ago	commented	harg ♦4,253	According to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hounslow_West this place does exist and is given as 51.468445402964 0.38885262664087 but it is not obvious where this definition comes from or whether there should be a physical marker at that point. OSM has it mapped twice: once near this note as place=suburb and again at https://www.openstreetmap.org/node/3471216198/ as place=neighbourhood. Confusingly there is also a Hounslow West ward, which is south of both places and I don't think is mapped on OSM and a Hounslow West underground station which is north of here. Duckduckgo claims that there is no official list of suburbs and https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Tag:place%3Dsuburb does not dictate how to determine a suburb's precise location. whether a marker should exist at the mapped location. I note from the history of the node near this note that it has been deleted in the past and replaced. So unless there is some compelling reason, with the appropriate evidence, to believe that the suburb of Hounslow West is somewhere other than here, I propose we let it stand.
