the entire skytrain network should be railway:atc=yes, as skytrain is automatically controlled with SelTrac. i am not sure how to make such a large edit without doing it by hand, so if someone smarter than me could figure it out, that would be great. cheers

Just a note, I vaguely remember someone making a similar edit a while back and it being reverted, although I don't really remember the reason for that. I could be misremembering though.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Automatic_train_control ATC is not automatically controlled.

Trains are controlled by a human and ATC supports the human in operating the train. Confusing but that is the way of the railroad industry. As Sky train is a closed system they don't have drivers or need for ATC and are instead automatically controlled by SelTrac.

so, what would you suggest the tag be? Skytrain internally calls it ATC so idk.

suggest looking at the sky train wiki. instead of ATC a system called VCC is listed. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SkyTrain_(Vancouver)

I've done significant digging and have historical knowledge into both SkyTrain's control systems (ie VCC is short for Vehicle Control Computer, not the entire ATC [Automated Train Control] system as a whole) and also the OSM tagging for such automated trains, and I believe the following tagging would work best for SkyTrain: https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Key:railway:cbtc railway:cbtc=IL If you look at the tracks, under and next to the LIM rail there's little wires that loop over every few dozen meters, those are the inductive signalling loops, thus the rationale for this tag. https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Key:railway:ato railway:ato=uto because SkyTrain is a GoA4 system - heck it's one of the examples on the Wikipedia page for ATO: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Automatic_train_operation#Grades_of_automation railway:atc should *not* be added because ATC still implies a human operator according to both the OSM wiki and Wikipedia: https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Key:railway:atc https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Automatic_train_control Despite Canada Line using different drive technology than SkyTrain, both systems still are GoA4 and use inductive loop signalling (it's much more visible on Canada Line) so the same tagging applies to it. The last major edit was reverted because it added railway:cbtc=uto which is a weird mishmash of the two tags and was definitely wrong. If the community agrees on this topic I could do the edit myself since it'd be pretty easy in JOSM.

yeah railway:cbtc=IL and railway:ato=uto seems reasonable to me. make sure when you're editing it in JOSM to not get the manual tracks at OMC1 into it. or canada line OMC. Thanks!

Sadly this telephone CO is now demolished. Demolition started this summer and concluded around November. It was shut down last year. information on its retirement is available online, including from my blog. You may read that if you wish. https://akana.tel/blog/blog/BC%20Tel%20Castle%20CO%20gets%20retired I believe a new condo tower will be built here.

I have reverted the above users edits as they are a sockpuppet account, and their edits seemed incorrect given that this concerns a demolition https://www.openstreetmap.org/changeset/176799155

I didn't see the edit, but what used to be the building is (quite sadly) now a hole in the ground. nothing remains. I'll miss that telephone exchange dearly :(

bus stop has been moved to the north side of the intersection for construction. shelter and seating was literally picked up and moved. stop amenities remain the same.
