Misspelling of this river side path. The “h” is capitalised as it named after Fitz Herbert, thus FitzHerbert Walk. https://www.google.com/search?sca_esv=abee3b8ad4c7865a&rlz=1CDGOYI_enGB590GB591&hl=en-GB&biw=393&bih=661&q=fitzherbert+walk+southall+photos&uds=ABqPDvxu1d0pkJ7VeCzmpdSMvN4fz3Qlx7TWq977taEcLkxA8uShcY3XPrf22zJ21QkU7861VL033zlXpes45hViWnqX3SN6mPHnAB-p-qSE5ELZS3G40lBxkIbBlHgPgSfgIDFt1KkCKrC86dS_E8n7MKAr64lZAV9EIJ6mTzN_snt32P3uZlW1yY7EDlWfCLYoCg8_oZxUr0YSX-a_b7aa62Zn2O0oPt2Q9i4QXjGu3MLWhc8mHTwMseZSmGPEStrXa10cf4NSzPwqFvAbIc7oXJHHuhZeH18drTauRTBz5on323X3R8TG9X9hyusfG_f8plPk1da27be3K75g7JWwlEPKZdufplGP7hgzT0LkwEr6LGddljCu7ip4X4OW_BGyGFqNOd0oJ5pe-DOKkzEf8D4OU0D7JQtAHVHZPe8tIW9kYxHv5rc&si=APYL9bscZpjn3_6X199NmFjPBARRV0xSGKg4D2BCi30CgM2FOxpJAKCNNOhICS02eXUf6evdLHTrLVkwL2LA5aZLC0x4xeAM3zkrGNbedAm2ZL5ObmR1Njsd_VTtWo5TC7MTcLQYssJAzGOqUwakHpYbDmVvwMy2fw%3D%3D&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwjm99WAh_aMAxX7lP0HHWb0LcMQk8gLegQIIhAB&ictx=1

GlaxoSmithKline, aka GSK, is no longer at this location. They closed/sold their Brentford site and moved to New Oxford Street London. Also other facilities marked on this map associated with this site no longer are present at this locale. E.g. GSK Security; Londis (which was inside the GSK House building) and gone. See reference to UK locations… https://www.gsk.com/en-gb/locations/united-kingdom/ The building is currently under redevelopment planning… https://www.architectsjournal.co.uk/news/first-images-revealed-of-plans-to-convert-glaxosmithkline-hq-into-homes

You have incorrect spelling here. It FitzHerbert Walk (not the capital H).

Confirmed spelling at https://www.ealing.gov.uk/info/201136/parks_in_the_borough/664/hanwell_parks/4 and amended.

This bridge is called Boles Bridge. IT crosses Brent River behind St Mary’s church hanwell, and joined Boles Meadow to Cricket grounds west of Brent river. Boles Bridge is part of Brent River Park Walk, which is in turn part of Capital Ring walk.

355126812023-02-09 11:07opened---It is not called the Elizabeth Line West of Westbourne Park Turnback sidings, it is the GWML. There is more non Elizabeth Line services than Elizabeth Line services on the GWML. Even the GWML relief lines which is the main lines which the Elizabeth Line runs on still has mainly got non Elizabeth Line services. Also the lack of speed limits shown on the GWML Relief lines. https://sacuksprodnrdigital0001.blob.core.windows.net/sectional-appendix/Sectional%20Appendix%20full%20PDFs%20December%202022/Western%20Sectional%20Appendix%20December%202022.pdf

Yes it should be GWML and not XR.

Link provided no longer works. Also, suggest as this is 2 years old and things have changed since, the original comment is outdated and should be dismissed.

Even though two years has pasted, it is still the cause it is the GWML Mainline. The comment is very much still in date. As shown by these two photos GWR still makes use of those lines = https://flic.kr/p/2qNiA1P https://flic.kr/p/2qNiFTK The link for the doc has been replaced by this link, due to it gets updated every 3 months for safety reasons. This is the most recent one which is the December 2024 issue. https://sacuksprodnrdigital0001.blob.core.windows.net/sectional-appendix/Sectional%20Appendix%20full%20PDFs%20December%2024/Western%20and%20Wales%20Sectional%20Appendix%20December%202024.pdf It can also be found hear under the Western Sectional Appendix = https://www.networkrail.co.uk/industry-and-commercial/information-for-operators/national-electronic-sectional-appendix/

Okay, ta. Question: The original note suggests what exactly? The map shows this as Great Western Mainline at this Hanwell location. Which AFAIK is correct. Yes the EL may run on it, as do other services (freight too).

Maybe your ‘correction’ pin locale is incorrect. I see the label “Elizabeth line” used on the OSM further east, past West Ealing, which is technically is incorrect as the train track there is GWML. Maybe you need to relocate your comment ‘pin’??
82025-02-24 10:37commentedA Trainspotter from Berkshire
♦62
When the pin was first placed it was in the correct location, as the full route between Reading and Paddington was done as Elizabeth Lines, so slowly people have been converting sections back to the GWML.
92025-02-24 12:28closedM-Thingo
♦9
So hence this ‘pin’ comment can be marked as resolved and an additional/alternative one entered up the track past West Ealing for corrections there??

There is no public road here. This road element should be removed. At most it is a private garage space, not public.
22025-01-13 16:40closedharg
♦3,558
It is not tagged as public, nor is it tagged as a road. It's tagged as "highway=service" which is correct for its purpose. I've added access=private which will show a minor visual difference if you refresh the map. It's fairly academic anyway, because a router cannot route to anywhere via a dead end.

Sorry, if it ‘looks’ like a standard road - it could be used as. Standard road, which it is not. Therefore it should NOT look like a normal road to the viewer, irrespective of its inclusion in directions.

Editors can only map according to the official tags. If you wish to criticise OSM's mapping policies you should do so in one of the OSM forums. This is not an appropriate place for that.

However, before doing that, wait a few hours and hard-refresh the map in your browser. It should *not* look like a standard road after the map has updated but there can be a delay.

Okay. Can I also point out that OSM emails state the wrong address for this issue. the e mail I received states “ West Ealing, Hanwell, London Borough of Ealing, London, Greater London, England, W13 9DD, United Kingdom.” . When in fact it is Hanwell, W7 3BL. Note too the Hanwell is separate from West Ealing. So the correct address is Hanwell, London Borough of Ealing, London, Greater London, England, W7 3BL, United Kingdom.

BTW. The visual depiction of the road has changed for the better to reflect that it is a private driveway and not a standard carriageway, ta.

Glad to see that has worked. The postcode I'm looking at. My best guess is that none of the nearby buildings are specifically mapped with a postcode. If you can confirm that 183 Church Road has the postcode W7 3BL (from personal knowledge or a public domain source, not from a Royal Mail or google search because they both prohibit using that on OSM) I will add it tomorrow and see if that solves the problem.

Hello, Please note that there is not residences on that side (north side) of Church Road at that location. The ‘buildings’ are a row of private car parking garages and forecourt, largely disused. The street address would be in the 150-160 range. The closest house is 168 Church Road, with the postcode W7 3BL Thus the garages postcode is W7 3BL. Note also that the postcode for one side of Church Road is different from the opposite side, and that the property numbering of one side verse the other is out by a factor of about 60 (the houses opposite are number 101 and 103, with a different postcode).

♦3,558
Probably inappropriate to add a postcode for the garages, because they typically don't have mailboxes and would therefore not officially have a postcode. But I have added the postcode and address information for the nearest building 166-172. This may help whatever software generates the "is near xxxxx" information.

Thanks for reply. Well as I understand it, everywhere residential established street in the UK has postcodes. Whether there currently is a property or not makes no difference. A locale will have a postcode, as one day a change of use / palling may occur and a property built. That said, my biggest point was the OSM email sent and its opening sentence. “ Hi, harg has left a comment on one of your map notes near West Ealing, Hanwell, London Borough of Ealing, London, Greater London, England, W13 9DD, United Kingdom.” Hanwell is NOT West Ealing. They are two separate entities. And that postcode is nowhere near this locale.
