Unable to answer "What type of stile is this?" – Stile – https://osm.org/node/1925250016 via StreetComplete 56.1: It's just a gate on both sides

are they passable?

I have passed through here on 22/06/25, but don't remember the type of gate/stile. No issues getting through though

Just reopening again as I did another survey. No wonder I didn't remember the gates as they may as well not be in use anymore. Please see photos here: https://imgur.com/a/dPT2vVe I walked North to South so the photos are taken in that order. Not sure you want to amend any more on this @Mex as technically it is correct I guess but may not truly represent the area properly. If not feel free to just mark this resolved again and we'll just keep as is.

Will mark as resolved as no further feedback. The 2 gates are technically correct as per survey and don't think mapping in the other path would be very beneficial.

Is there any sort of link between Bosworth Trail and Thornborough Road past here? there used to be http://www.openstreetmap.org/changeset/27510797 , but that got deleted in http://www.openstreetmap.org/changeset/27510797 . A proper survey is needed to see what the access restrictions are (and to see whether it is a public bridleway or similar).

The footpath's been re-added in http://www.openstreetmap.org/way/329010050 - still need to check access and designation though

It's a public bridleway as per https://www.leicestershire.gov.uk/roads-and-travel/cycling-and-walking/where-to-walk-and-ride-in-leicestershire
6~ 7 months agocommentedSomeoneElse
♦6,305
Alas that page says "Leicestershire County Council Copyright © 2025". However, if you've been there and seen the public footpath signs, you can add "designation=public_footpath".
7~ 7 months agocommentedlonerider543
♦15
Thank you for the advice. I will check for any signs next time I go!

Here's what I found in today's survey: https://imgur.com/a/6C9bygk No clear signage stating it is a public footpath/bridleway - but with the waymarker I think it is hinting at it, unless that is enough confirmation. The cycle information sign also seems to suggest it is part of the national cycle network (route 52) ? What are your thoughts?
10~ 6 months agocommentedSomeoneElse
♦6,305
Well that second sign definitely looks like a yellow public footpath sign, so "designation=public_footpath" would make sense, I think. It looks like there's also a "Mines, Mines and Railways" walking route relation that could be added too. https://www.openstreetmap.org/relation/3748275 is an example of that sort of thing, although that's a regional ("network=rwn") rather than a local ("network=lwn") one.

Great thanks, I have added the public_footpath designation. I cannot find anything else about the mills, mines and railways walking route and cannot find an existing relation so will leave that out for now.

Closing as unclear what this is for exactly. The post code in question applies to buildings further north along Warren Hills Road (around Bulls Head Pub).
34853801~ 3 years agoopenedaepunavyHi, I have modified the road class to cycle path based on internal driver feedback and OS Open Local 2022. Since I'm not aware of the barrier type, I have added barrier=yes. If any local mapper has information regarding the barrier at this place, please tag it accordingly or please let me know, I will make the edits. Thanks, aepunavy
2~ 7 months agoclosedlonerider543
♦15
There is no cycle path here. The barrier is a set of wooden bollards. The road is a private driveway from both sides, with the bollards in the middle to prevent people using the driveways as a through road. Edited accordingly.

Footpath currently not accessible from this point up to Beveridge Lane due to construction work. It's fenced off. Could not find alternative route.

There is another building hereabouts: an education centre.

I've added the building which is now visible in aerial imagery but will leave this note as it's unclear whether it is an education centre, a pre-school nursery or something else.

It looks to be this https://mini-explorers.com/ . We used the other car park for the Countryfile broadcast item, so didn't have a chance to look up here. Mind you we did a lot of hanging about for 2 seconds worth of filming!
