Aurand has been family owned since 1937, and now owned by the Ray Evers family that has built upon the great tradition of manufacturing quality products. The need for the unit was born out of the depression era when surface preparation tools were needed for restoration projects. It was quickly learned that the units were very varied and had many varied uses, besides the concrete industry, the units are now used to maintain, the U.S. Navy and Coast Guard to remove rust and non-skid from ship surfaces while leaving an exceptional profile for the new surface being applied to adhere to. The use of the tools in the marine and offshore industries has blossomed into a venture that now has sales all over the world with sales being extremely popular in oil producing countries around the world. (United States, Venezuela, Brazil, Canada, Colombia, Peru, Singapore, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Bahrain, China, Taiwan, Japan, Russia) Units have also been sold many other navies worldwide including Canada, Thailand, Australia, Spain, Portugal and the United Kingdom.

The lovely little garden/wooded area here in front of Knox has been replaced by an ugly concrete pancake. Someone else can edit to remove the paths here, I don't have the heart to do so.

The Ohio River Trail does narrow at this point, but the trail is still separate. Signage at the location instructs riders to dismount and walk their bike until the trail widens again.

I believe the Clifton and MLK bike routes legally include crossings through this intersection. Check for local signage to confirm.

News articles report that Academy on 4th has a dedicated bicycle room, but it is a resident only garage and I can't check. If anyone has the opportunity to enter the garage please confirm if the room is there.
