While it shares the same street name as the adjacent B1538, it should *not* be classified as a bypass as no signs indicate as such. This is visible on Google Street View data from June 2026, and has been verified in-person.

♦51,270		thanks. no need to apologise -- i'm getting pretty much non-stop shite for being who i am and for working on osm. the latter hurts me more than you can ever know. https://www.openstreetmap.org/edit?editor=potlatch2&way=621885501#map=18/36.71439/-108.14957 puts me in the area of this note and shows me the shared nodes form both your first mentioned way at https://www.openstreetmap.org/way/680643639 and the mapped woods that i assumed from the main osm page data layer were independent. the second way you give, https://www.openstreetmap.org/way/728934729 , is obviously something but it is seemingly joined to many things (without investigating) and also is not part of a multipolygon at present. these were edited with josm, but that doesn't mean they were not part of a multipolygon that was deleted elsewhere. i'll probably have to brush up on my multipolygon skills to see if there's a simple way to determine a history of parts as members of since-deleted multipolygons. more to cum. and i'll send you a copy of how i deal with spammers in a private message; i hope you are sufficiently immune to the osm etiquette Regeln/Vorschriften, so that you would take no offence were i to jokingly sling such abuse your way, just as i'd never take personally anything you might defame me with. ♦51,270		i analysed the second (at v2) of the untagged ways you listed, and traced it back to v1, also untagged, in a changeset that created three relations, all proper and none including the untagged way, so i threw out a changeset comment at https://www.openstreetmap.org/changeset/74988384 in hopes of getting an explanation. i'll look at the first, at v9, sometime when i have more time and tire of watching the rain of the last four days gently to violently descending onto the burnt forest hillsides of last year or fail to struggle to find my way down the hillside into town. obviously the way i tried already today is a path that is unsuitable with steep slopes of slippery irregular rocks during the heavy rains of these days, so plan b is to come into effect. more later.
