If you wish to change the name please do so, it does not require you to post a note. I can verify the name Green Lane by referring to the NCC data. Can you show some verifiable data, (as per OSM criteria) to show the name is Codlings Lane? Is the name of this highway section written down anywhere, does the National Trust refer to its name? ♦3,862		I wouldn't use viewpoint (even if misspelt!) for places where birders assemble looking for rare birds. Places like Blakeney (whole North Norfolk coast really & Spurn further North) are most popular during Autumn migration & especially if weather conditions are right for a "fall" (rare migrants diverted across North Sea and arrive exhausted). I don't know how busy it is at other times. Clearly these are local names used by those in the know (birders) and not general names. For instance they aren't on OS maps. I think loc_name is more appropriate and have commented on the original changeset as well.

♦191		You are probably right about using viewpoint=, but I was following the Wiki, although Taginfo shows no use in GB. As for names, there are no official or local names in the area as the rate of change of the topography and colonisation means there is very little fixed to name. So if someone wants to find a location, any identifiable feature, including this first colonisation by trees it is useful. None of the near by names are on any maps new or old. It has a wikimedia page, a Geograph page, and is on Cleybirdclub.org.uk 's sketch map. I gave up counting when i got to 20 distinct websites mentioning it from a google search.
