It sounds like you are blaming us for not having fully mapped *everything* in the city. This is unfair towards other mappers. Mapping sidewalks (correctly) is a complicated and time-consuming task, and they are being added bit by bit; there is always a moment where one must stop. Connecting them to the nearest road is good practice and navigation will work fine. (At least one side of the road will have accurate navigation, and this will improve once someone else takes over and adds the other side.) More sidewalks were added here recently, and the problem is probably already partly solved. I don’t believe that erasing all the existing work and going back to the primitive style of having *only roads and no sidewalks* would help anyone here. | |

As an experienced user, I often find StreetComplete to be"dumb" in the way those questions have been built. A sidewalk has been drawn along Rue Neerveld/Neerveldstraat, and to make routing work, the sidewalk must share a common node with the small service road near the place you took this photo. We tag this node as a "crossing" because it is technically the intersection of a footway and a road. But we have extra tags to differentiate between a "real" crossing (i.e., with zebra markings) or, like here, an "unmarked" crossing, which is just a connection used by navigation engines. (This can also be used for car navigation, to alert drivers that, even if there are no visible markings, they should expect to have pedestrians coming here). I fixed it by adding the relevant tags, that way StreetComplete will not bother you anymore for this one. If you see the same situation, just answer "no" to the question. | |

We sometimes quarrel with them if they *delete* the paths, but retagging as private is generally okay. In rare cases, people dishonestly tag public paths as private just for their own private comfort, but the opposite, i.e., hikers walking across private paths even when "no entry" signs are visible, is much more common. Therefore, seeing people hiking there is usually not sufficient to remap it on OSM. The only reliable way to know, if you are in this area, is to take pictures of the start of this path and try to look for signs (or the lack of signs). Do you think you could do that? | |

This street has been mapped as one-way all of its lifetime on OSM. But according to this 2024 Mapillary picture, there are C3+M3 signs coming from the east. For 71 it's easy : Take aerial, you will see a small dome on the top of the building : just in front you have 6 rectangle it's the "marquise/auvent" of the hotel. The entreance is just in the middle. (i have make many delivery in the past here), for the building passage as i remember it's straight not oblik as mapped now, 71 is perfectly placed in Urbis Admin so if we take the 73 and 75 : just in the middle it's the building passage (just a part is steps if i recall well) Of course a survey make this more precise but at least we can have the correct border and a more accurate position of the building passage. |
