Y Berllan is a house on the other side of the river. the application you prob saw was basically asking for permission to dump sewage from the house directly into the river. I've updated as much as I could while I was there, I've definitely missed a lot, so consider my edits temporary and incomplete as they build the area up and the aerial imagery updates. I will say though, I think it's important to continue to update this area in it's unfinished state because there are now many people living here in their new houses.

Unless I come across something explicit on the ground that says "military, enter at own risk" or the likes I'll remove it since the only justification that is exists seems to be that cadets sometimes use it. this definition would cover half of Wales if used. There is a old rifle range still visible on satellite however old ranges are not a uncommon sight around the valleys so i don't think that's enough justification.

Here for example (https://www.mapillary.com/app/?lat=51.529341177132&lng=-3.1857264507591&z=17&pKey=155246166606428&focus=photo&menu=false), there's no evidence of it being signed at all, and the eastern part of the B4562 is now split in multiple parts by a new housing estate. Needs more evidence that the B4562 actually still exists, or whether it's changed, someone local needs to survey and confirm.

It's marked as a secondary road leading from A469 to Newport road (B4487) following Lisvane Road, St Mellons Road, Bridge Road and Tyr Winch Road. Since OS still recognises it as a secondary road I would suggest upgrading the entire length of the B4562 to a secondary road matching that of OS Maps and falling into line with other major maps. If I have time tomorrow I might go ride that way and see what state its in with all the new builds.

It still hold official B-road status which has been officially reiterated on DataMapWales: OS Highways in 2021 and on data.gov: OS Open Roads in Apr 2025. The B road status was granted in 1935 and last updated in 2020 where a section on bridge st was converted to a cycleway and thus that section's B-road classification was removed. I have surveyed parts of it and the signage is lacking but does exist.

It is a stone retaining wall with stones that stick out to form steps. at the top you climb over the wall. I've tagged the steps as a `highway=ladder` way followed by a step over stile at the top including incline on the ladder.

It passes straight thought a field with no obvious markers showing the path's path on imagery and the note tag on it says its not navigable. I've removed it for now and I'll will attempt to follow the stretch from the waterfall following the river the next dry day we get to see if its passable and where it comes out.
