On the second point, I think you're right; it's narrow and twisty in places and Purton isn't even signed along here from the Common Platt / The Pry turn. The only thing is that Purton generally doesn't have many quality roads around it and tertiary differentiates between Collins Lane north of here, which is narrower still. But Manor Hill / Church St is signed for Purton and actually has road markings in places so downgrading this would be logical. | |

Quite a few of the roads around here are awkward to classify. | |
| 5132505 Category: Unknown | 1 | ~ 5 months ago | opened | RogerL ♦19 | This is not a junction I visit frequently, but the A1 flyover at Old Craighall Junction being tagged as a Trunk Road looks strange and feels wrong. The Trunk Road (Primary Route) clearly follows the A1 east and A720 south, it does not go over the flyover as the A1 west of here is correctly tagged as a Primary Road, with white road signs (being careful to distinguish from a British Primary *Route*, with green signs). Even the eastern and southern sides of the roundabout are not technically part of the Primary Route and ideally would be tagged as a Primary Road rather than Trunk Road. Not doing this myself as I am not familiar with the history of the mapping in this area. |
