♦3,858		Certainly agree with second point. Not sure exactly how the vegetation should be mapped anyway. All along the road it's a mixture of v. poor quality un-improved grassland (rushes, marsh thistle etc) shading into blanket bog ( which usually gets mapped as natural=heath as folk can see the heather but not the peat in aerials)) higher up the hill. Unfortunately the road is now fenced in it's entire length, we were hoping to get easier access to plants on this little byway.

♦595		It'll need to wait until there is updated imagery of the new building to the east, available in free/permitted licence. The most recent imagery in the OSM iD editor at present is Esri, which only came out in the past 8 months or so, but is (I estimate) at least 2 years old. Bing imagery is 4 years old. Esri Clarity is a good 10ish years old. There's nothing as yet published on https://map.openaerialmap.org/. If you know a drone operator that would like to publish something with license to trace for mapping on openstreetmap, perhaps give them a nudge :-) otherwise it's a case of waiting until a provider publishes something new in the area. In the meantime I've updated the tags of the old and prospective buildings, to denote the demolition and construction.

♦595		That's curious indeed – but yes, all the official sources point to below 400m, and they will have been by geode triangulation, rather than phone GPS (which is not very accurate on vertical measurements). Equally, your phone may just be gauging elevation by interpolating nearby map data, and thus if AllTrails shows 438 it could even be based on that data (I see in the history that the ele=* tag has previously been 438, but was updated 4 years ago based on a reputable source, so AllTrails and/or your phone may be basing the altitude on old OSM data). Additionally, I note that it includes a tag ele:wgs84=438.2 which suggests a difference by a different mercator, but I don't know enough about this to know why it should be higher than all other figures. For now, I'd suggest the official sources are the correct ones; even the old British War Office maps show a blurry figure 12xx (feet) and no contours above 1250, suggesting the xx is between 50 and 99.

♦595		You're right, some houses had the wrong street name... but that wasn't all that was up; there were house polygons missing, places where 2 semidetached houses were drawn where 4 terraced should be, and also small 2-apartment buildings (with 2 house numbers in real life) tagged as single houses. So it would have been difficult to get right with StreetComplete anyway. Now fixed on Woodburn Crescent, Sprucefield Drive and the houses immediately bordering this on Danes Hill Road and Ballysally Road... but there may be other examples that need to be tweaked before house numbering can be added.

♦595		Ah yes, this was me a few years ago – I tried to make better sense of the routing by applying the trunk vs primary logic on https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Roads_in_the_United_Kingdom (based on road number signage being in either green [trunk] or white [primary]). On signage it appears this is still the case, and so the classifications here are *technically* correct. However looking at Sabre, the suggestion is that neither the A20 nor A21 pass through the town centre any more, as currently mapped, and instead the A21 uses the stretch you highlight @VictorIE, with both routes using the southern bypass. In theory that would mean all the current town centre trunk routing could have its numbering removed and be altered to highway=tertiary. I'd be fine with all that **except** it appears the A20 is still signposted through the town centre, and the A21 from High Street/South Street junction southwards. So removing those refs and classifications means that GPS's would not be acknowledging what drivers see on signage. Although we *could* pretend that all these signs have the road numbers in brackets. Additionally, the only legislation I can find is from 1998 https://www.legislation.gov.uk/nisr/1998/318/schedule/made (predating the bypass) stating the A20 and T11 trunk route go through the centre. So I'm not sure. The above is an option, or perhaps keep the town centre routing with existing numbering (meaning the A20 still takes 2 routes, one through centre and one via bypass), but downgrade centre routing to Primary? Then upgrade the section of Portaferry Road to trunk?

♦595		Ok, how about this for a least-worst option (changeset/183307500). Skip to summary below if this is too confusing. Given legislation (and signage) still says the A20 goes through the centre of town, I've left that ref in place - but reduced to Primary rather than Trunk. It now has the same status as the stretch of (still signposted) A21 leading into the centre from the south. On the ground, the circular section (Blair Mayne Road South, Messines Road, Castlebawn Road) is the only A20 route signposted in the eastbound direction, from the Kempe Stones Road roundabout (and signposted as trunk road, green signs), and it's also cited in Sabre. For a long time, the trunk route T11 has been tagged on this route, subsequently connecting with the A21 leading northeast of town. Given this routing, I've tagged way/60352036 as Trunk (despite its lack of green signage), and it remains as A20, connecting on to the aforementioned town centre section. The A21 coming from the south and leaving to the northeast is still severed (connected by the A20), but all sources suggest this is the case anyway. Summary: The only mapped "trunk" route is via the (signposted) town bypass. All else that is still signposted as A21 or A20 remains as such, but with primary tags. This is the most sense I can make out of the mess that actually exists. Does it work for you folks?

♦595		Appears to be correct. Signposted from Main Street as "Church Entry leading to Rathkeel Road", suggesting it's Church Entry to at least the church. First signposted as Rathkeel Road from the Caherty Road junction (although no Church Entry sign here). Additionally from checking other sources, the house opposite Buckna Road is number 15, while numbering restarts further down Rathkeel Road proper, with 11 and 15. Which suggests the house opposite Buckna is not on Rathkeel Road. No clear evidence of exactly where Church Entry becomes Rathkeel Road, but from the signposting it seems reasonable that its current mapped change at Caherty Road junction is correct.

The martial arts organisation is definitely based there, based on their Facebook page, but if it turns out they are only one of a few organisations, that can always be extracted to a node placed in the building (and feel free to update the building to a sports centre or similar if that's ultimately what it is).

I would suggest the better option is to retain the existing larger builgings, but add nodes in the known locations of shops; this is quite standard practice where different POIs share a building.

♦595		Yes to building=static_caravan. tourism=caravan_site is the wrong tag for these, as caravan site is for towable caravans (or motorhomes) to pull up into and stay temporarily, not static homes for rent or living. residential=trailer_park is one use, or if it's really for short-term lets in a holiday park (and not long-term lease of static homes, as many of these are) then tourism=chalet is used, "for lack of a better alternative", as the wiki page says.

Within Openstreetmap, Council wards are not systematically mapped across NI, and a node probably wouldn't be the relevant way to map them anyway (more likely mapped with boundaries, like the current network of historic townlands, as you mention this is just part of Blackstaff ward). However given the area is referred to locally and across Belfast as The Village (e.g. the Greater Village Regeneration Trust on Donegall Road), it does seem fair to map the area by its widely established name. See also The Holyland, node 5796249604. Another node 11811532824 has been created with probably more appropriate tags (and can include alt_name=Blackstaff, so that the place is at least searchable on mapping software), so I'm inclined to import those into this older node and remove the duplicate. Happy to continue discussing though, if you still feel strongly about The Village not being a mapped element.
