If I've understood the situation, this is a river that is always present, but runs wider in the winter. Unfortunately we can't take data from the CCC adopted highways map, as it's compiled using Ordnance Survey data, and Ordnance Survey like their monopoly. But for an edit of this size and (lack of) controversy, imo no verification is needed, so I will re-tag the way according to the details you've given. It will take a while for independent data "consumers", such as routing software, to update their copy of the data. Some routers might only update, say, once a year. I've tried a few routes that might make use of Ridgeway Rd and all avoid it due to the footpath. Sometimes routing engines misinterpret tags on roads - do you know which apps or satnavs are throwing up this issue?
