♦9,500		Das kann SC nicht leisten. Es gibt viele Gebäude mit mehreren POIs, da ist diese Situation ganz normal. Problem hier war, dass das Café neu erfasst wurde, statt den alten Knoten zu verwenden. Dann funktioniert das ganze lifecycle-Konzept nicht. Hab das rüberkopiert und den neuen Knoten gelöscht.

Sollte man die nächsten Wochen prüfen, dauerhafte Schließung ist eigentlich kaum vorstellbar, sonst hätten sie sich nicht die Arbeit die Schilder auszutauschen. ♦2,262		Hmm, OK, I'll leave it open for now, but I'd really, really like to close it with the reminder bot if it ends up taking longer. -- (There aren’t really that many active mappers here (except you and me), so it’ll most likely end up, as always, with one of us two doing it anyway. I (and you) stop by here a lot more often than others, I think, but we’ll see in the end which one of us is the first to reactivate the gas station. I even go out of my way to use up my expensive gas just to look at your notes—that should be proof enough of my enthusiasm. 😅. I’m pretty eager, as you’ve probably seen elsewhere, and I definitely won’t let you down (probably daily checks 😁)—and I’ll probably go ahead and update this anyway, so we wouldn’t have had to wait and let this open for anyone else at all...)

♦2,262		Hi, as mentioned, I've been patient for some time now. And as promised, I kept an eye on the gas station and checked it regularly. My last on-the-ground-survey was today, 2026/10/03. Still nothing. The gas station and all surroundings (car repair, car wash) are closed. I saw no "movement" or activities whatsoever for a reopening during all my visits. A while ago, I contacted the gas station and asked for more details. They answered me. Unfortunately, they remained tight-lipped about the background details. There is no opening in the near future, the estimation is 2027. IMHO, I think there are problems with the tenant "Tankwerk", maybe money or staff problems, but I don't know. This could take a while, maybe they find a new tenant. I didn't want to mark anything as inactive using Lifecycle prefixes yet, but things couldn't stay the way they were because visitors would be routed here. At the very least, I added the opening hours information to all the affected objects and added a “fixme” tag. For now, everything we can do is done. No open task. That's why I close it (for now!). But it will not be forgotten! Here is our note reminder bot - and of course I always have reminders in my own calendar and visit this again. As described, #1 I drive around here regularly, #2 I will stay in contact with the gas station and ask again #3 I even went so far and started to check this daily on the Shell website and keep myself updated in local Facebook groups etc. for days where I am not here on the ground. #remindme 2027-01-01 Kind regards, TG-map4

First, I mapped the existing/old state of the playground (was only a node object, not more, very unprecise) and refined some more stuff in the area. The ship is already built, also a fence/wall. I "prepared" everything and added fixmes for the opening in December. For now, everything we can do is done. No open task. That's why I close it (for now!). But it will not be forgotten! ♦5		Die Sperrung dieser Brücke habe ich versucht dadurch zu erfassen, dass ich keine Verkehrsteilnehmer auf der Brücke zugelassen habe. Sie soll durch eine neue Brücke an gleicher Stelle ersetzt werden. Ich weiß jedoch nicht, wie solche Plandaten in OSM einzutragen sind. Die Sperrung von weiteren Brücken im Zuge des Erf-Renaturierungsprojekts bei Gymnich habe ich bisher auch noch nicht eingetragen. Nur diese Sperrung habe ich in echt am 27.6.2025 gesehen.

Für solche Sperrungen gibt es bessere und aktuellere Lösungen. conditional:vehicle macht auch nur Sinn, wenn genaue Daten bekannt sind, aber auch dieser Eintrag müsste irgendwann wieder entfernt werden. ♦5		Ich habe bei der Tour de Verkehrswende bei der Stadt Kerpen angeregt, dass dort die Bauplanung in einem für google und osm lesbaren Format bereitgestellt werden. Die Daten können nach Realisierung automatisiert in gewissen Zeitabständen von OSM übernommen werden. Sobald die Routine läuft sind die OSM so aktuell wie die Bauplanungsdaten der Gemeinden. Wenn man das flächendeckend haben möchte ist jetzt ein guter Termin, die Bürgermeisterkandidaten auf diese simple Verbesserungsmöglichkeit anzusprechen. Soll ich das übernehmen? Ich wäre nicht traurig, wenn es eine kompetente OSM-Zuarbeitende übernehmen würde.

Diese Brücke wird ja durch einen einfachen Fahrweg in dem dann gefüllten Alt-Bett ersetzt. Den Link zum Erftrenaturierungs-Flyer hatte ich ja schon angegeben. Es wird gerade intensiv am neuen Erftbett gearbeitet. Die Arbeiten sollen noch in 2025 abgeschlossen sein. Soll ich die Bürgermeisterkandidaten nun im Namen OSM-Community fragen, ob sie die Planungsdaten in einem OSM-kompatiblen Format bereitstellen wollen?

♦5		Update von heute, 25.Juli 2026: Nach Infos von Erfttown news bin ich heute selbst vor Ort gewesen um mir ein Bild der Lage bei der Autobahnbrücke und der in der Verlängerung befindlichen neuen Erftbrücke zu machen. Sie sind offiziell weiterhin gesperrt. Die Sperrungen werden offensichtlich regelmäßig geöffnet und von Spaziergängern und Radlern genutzt. Ich empfehle, diese Brücken und Wege erst dann zu nutzen, wenn die offizielle Freigabe erfolgt ist. Bis dahin werden wahrscheinlich auch noch mehr geteerte Wege vorhanden sein und die Brücken sind dann auch fertig einschließlich Geländer. Wenn das soweit ist, dann könnte ich die neuen Wege abfahren und dann eintragen. Noch besser wäre es wenn der Bauherr das täte, wie er es auch versprach...Heute konnte ich beide Autobahn- und Erftbrücken mit dem Rad überqueren. Da in osm nur die offiziell der öffentlichkeit zugänglichen Wege dokumentiert werden, bleibt es vorerst wahrscheinlich bis September 2026 bei den Sperrungen. Wer aktueller informiert sein will, den verweise ich auf die wöchentlichen E-Town-News von Guido Beutler, wobei ich darauf hinweise, dass dies keine Stellungnahme zu seinen vlogs darstellt.

♦2,262		I did an on-the-ground-survey today. Two of the three bridges are finished. I was able to drive across them without any problems. Specifically, the one right here over the A61 and the next one, over the new Erft. It’s been mapped, all done. I’m closing this note here so as not to confuse outsiders, since it actually involved several bridges and the marker here would now be incorrectly positioned, and I’ve placed a new fixme as todo reminder at the last remaining bridge.

You could think of them as part of the “schoolyard” or school grounds, just so you understand better. I fixed it. But here at least pedestrians could use it. It is common practise to leave the note open on closed streets for not tu forget it, so please leave the note open. Anyway, OK for me if changed back again. "It is common practise to leave the note open on closed streets for not tu forget it, so please leave the note open." => hmm, yes/no, I have another/additional opinion and do it differently. I will leave it open now extra for you, but I already wrote in the closing notice that I put it on my todo list. I can drive here every week because I live in the region and do my sunday walks nearby. It will not be forgotten! You can trust me! I am a highly engaged and motivated mapper ;) Unless you have a higher visit frequency than every week ;) ;) ;) For me, the note is therefore unnecessary when a mapper really commits and promises that he will care about this issue in the note. ♦2,299		I believe you are a highly motivated mapper and it was not my intention to offend you :-). If you saw highway=construction for road blocks in urban areas it is most of the time the wrong tagging (in rural areas it my be correct depening on the circumstances). Only in very few situations the road is really blocked for all traffic including pedestrians because of construction. Mostly it is only blocked for through traffic, so vehicle/motor_vehicle=destination is the correct tagging. If the situation is unclear vehicle/motor_vehicle=no can be used instead. Because that tagging is less visible on first view, it is practise to leave a note to remember (like in https://www.openstreetmap.org/note/4487824, https://www.openstreetmap.org/note/4924750 or https://www.openstreetmap.org/note/4733518). And to be honest: Even the best mappers could forget something ;-). Back to this construction: Based on the linked article the Lehrer-Mainz-Straße should now be opened. So maybe we do not need any form of blocking here anymore.

♦2,262		I did an on-the-ground-survey today. The construction made some progress: Trierer Straße is finished and usable from the beginning (Hatzevennstraße/Cohmgasse) until Kirchenweg/Am Kapellchen. Then there is a road blockage and the contruction part starts. It reaches to the gas station SB-Tankstelle Huppertz, but only on one lane there is gravel, the other one is still old asphalt and "Anlieger" are allowed to use this. However, the "vehicle=destination" on all street parts is still correct, even the new street is not allowed to use for anyone. So no todo right now here. ♦2,299		Den Bot kenne ich, aber der ist nicht die Lösung für alles. Hinweise dienen auch der Information und dem gegenseitigen Austausch - so wie hier. Wenn der Hinweis geschlossen wurde, ist er in 7 Tagen von der Karte verschwunden. Natürlich weiß ich, dass ich den Hinweis wieder öffnen kann, andere Mapper, die den Hinweis nicht kennen und sehen, aber nicht. Sie erstellen einen neuen Hinweis oder schlimmer, sie "korrigieren" etwas, was nicht korrigiert werden sollte. Folge: Für dasselbe "Problem" gibt es mehrere Hinweise, denn der ursprüngliche wird ja irgendwann wieder automatisch geöffnet. Oder die Sperrung wurde gelöscht, obwohl sie noch existiert. Und auch der Bot kann zum Problem werden. Der basiert, wie vieles andere auch bei OSM, auf einer freiwilligen Leistung eines Mappers. Dieser kann von heute auf morgen den Bot abschalten oder die API funktioniert nicht. Folge: Keine Erinnerung, der Hinweis bleibt geschlossen und im schlimmsten Fall die Sperrung für lange Zeit in OSM. Der offene Hinweis ist für jeden sichtbar, jeder andere Mapper kann ihn bearbeiten oder Anmerkungen mitteilen, auch noch wenn der ursprüngliche Ersteller nicht mehr aktiv ist. Für deine eigenen Hinweise kannst du den Bot gerne nutzen, bei Hinweisen von anderen bitte genau abwägen, ob es sinnvoll ist, den Hinweis tatsächlich zu schließen.

♦3,477		OpenStreetMap ist zwar ein internationales Projekt, aber deswegen müssen deutschsprachige Mapper sich untereinander über das Mapping in Deutschland nicht auf Englisch unterhalten - das sorgt nur für unnötige Reibungsverluste bei der Kommunikation und ist vorallem dann unfreundlich, wenn man gar nicht weiss, ob der andere die englische Nachricht überhaupt versteht!

Sorry if this sounds harsh, but I have experience—believe me, I don’t mean any harm. We get requests like this all the time, asking for supposedly “private” data to be deleted. Let’s look at the facts—what are we dealing with here? We simply have the building outlines of a residential house and a garage, along with the address. Nothing more. This is all data that can and may be collected using legally permitted aerial photos or on-site survey without infringing on the residents’ privacy. No personal data—such as residents’ names—is recorded here. In other words: it’s downright absurd and utterly ridiculous that we’re even discussing something like this. Have you looked around? Throughout Müddersheim, throughout North Rhine-Westphalia, throughout Germany—yes, throughout the whole world—building outlines and addresses are recorded. Oh, what a surprise. The same goes for Google Maps, Bing Maps, etc. This really isn’t anything worth protecting. (Deutsche Post, Rettungsdienste etc. use OSM!). Believe me, here at OSM, even private gardens, private driveways, and much more are mapped. I have my own thoughts about that, but even that is considered acceptable by the OSM community. The “on-the-ground” rule applies. Everything that can be seen or recorded on-site is recorded. Even if someone here deletes the feature, another mapper will eventually come along and add it back. And one more thing: Even deleting it would be problematic, because that’s actually considered vandalism in the OSM community. ♦2,262		I don't think there's a right or wrong answer here; rather, you have to use your “discretion.” There's actually a separate chapter here on OSM dedicated to “micromapping.” I had to decide: do I add your information, or do I ignore it and consistently use a single smoothness value for the entire route? … I decided on the former. Personally, I wouldn't split it up for every little detail every time, but in this case I decided yes.

Apparently, in your app, cruise routes such as https://www.openstreetmap.org/way/224495201 are used for routing much in the same way as regular ferries intended for immediate crossing. That's a design issue in the app. A route=boat+boat=cruise_vessel must be penalised highly in routing instructions.

It’s still a full-fledged construction site—you can see scaffolding, a construction crane, and the old Pestalozzi School sign. So, as I’ve already shown with my online findings, this will likely not be completed until sometime next year, since the call for bids for the actual relocation of the archive is scheduled for April–October 2027. I’ve documented the current status of the site using `check_date` and `fixme`. --- aleph_null, I’d like to close this note again tomorrow, if you don’t have any objections. Don’t worry—that doesn’t mean the issue is resolved or will be forgotten. But for now, there’s nothing else we can do, and in a way, it’s already “resolved.” I’ve set up a “Note Reminder Bot” that will reopen this note on the (earliest) date mentioned above. Maybe you’re not familiar with this bot yet—take a look here: https://www.openstreetmap.org/user/NotesReminderBot. I’d already done this back in July, and you left the note closed for two months then, too. With issues that drag on forever (+5 years), the open notes just clutter up the view and I miss important new notes, so I find this really handy. Plus, we still have a “fixme” on the item.

♦2,262		Hi Pemu, I visited the train station underpass and took the time to walk through it in all sorts of directions, haha 😅. I saw the doors, but if I’m not mistaken, (at least most of them) are fire doors. Those would only be closed in the event of a fire, not all the time. Also, many important areas are only accessible to one another when the doors are open, which should be the case 24/7 at a train station (after all, it’s not just the (closing) stores there, but also the entrances/exits and the stairs to the platforms). I also tried using ChatGPT and conducting a thorough Google search to find any information about closing times. Nothing. I didn’t see any stickers or signs with the information I was looking for either. So I’d say: There are no publicly defined closing times here—at least, if there are any at all. Therefore, in my opinion, this problem cannot be solved.

Während der Baumaßnahme ist es notwendig, Wirtschaftswege und Straßen für Fahrzeuge und auch für Radfahrer und Fußgänger zu sperren. Folgende Sperrungen sind erforderlich: Im nördlichen Bauabschnitt zwischen der Gymnicher Mühle und der Balkhausener Straße erfolgen derzeit Erdarbeiten zum Anlegen des neuen Flussbetts, sowie anschließend der Neubau einer Brücke über die neue Erft. Die Wirtschaftswege in diesem Bereich sind wegen des erheblichen Baustellenverkehrs bis voraussichtlich November 2025 gesperrt. Für Radfahrer wurde eine Umleitung ausgeschildert. Im Bauabschnitt südlich der Balkhausener Straße erfolgt der Neubau einer Wehranlage und einer Radwegebrücke über die neue Erft im Bereich der Erftstraße. Anschließend erfolgen Erdarbeiten zum Anlegen des neuen Flussbetts. Die Erftstraße und die Wirtschaftswege zwischen Balkhausener Straße und der kleinen Erft müssen für die Dauer der Bauarbeiten bis November 2025 gesperrt werden. An der Balkhausener Straße erfolgt der Neubau einer Brücke über die neue Erft. Im weiteren Verlauf der Straße Richtung Kerpen (Gymnicher Straße) erfolgt nach der Umleitung in das neue Flussbett der Abriss der bestehenden Brücke. Das Kartenprojekt OpenStreetMap (OSM) stellt aktuelle Kartendaten unter anderem für die App „Komoot“ zur Verfügung, um Routenplanungen zu ermöglichen. Es erreichte mich eine Anfrage, warum diese Sperrung nicht bei OSM angezeigt werden. Können Sie mir konkrete Angaben mitteilen, welche Abschnitte für welchen Zeitraum betroffen sind, damit ich diese in OSM (befristet) erfassen kann? Hilfreich wäre hier sowohl eine Kartendarstellung als auch eine tabellarische Übersicht. Antwort: danke für Ihre wertvolle Anfrage und die Initiative. ♦5		Seit Donnerstag, 23.10.2025 fließt die Erf nun durch das neue Flussbett und damit unter drei neuen Brücken durch. Der jetzt leere Kanalabschnitt wird verfüllt. Wann die drei Brücken ihren regulären Betrieb aufnehmen, steht noch nicht fest. Ich danke Thessa-Marie für das Anschreiben an den Erftverband. Aus der Antwort lese ich, dass die osm-community die aktuelle Baustelle wie bisher manuell auf Basis verfügbarer konsolidierter Infos einpflegen muss, wenn man die Nutzer informieren möchte. Wer schon mal eine mindestens Halbautomatische Datenübernahme gemacht hat, wird ahnen, dass man dem Erftverband bei der Bereitstellung maschinenlesbarer Daten wird helfen müssen. Fühlt sich jemand dazu berufen?

♦5		Update von heute, 25.Juli 2026: Nach Infos von Erfttown news bin ich heute selbst vor Ort gewesen um mir ein Bild der Lage bei der Autobahnbrücke und der in der Verlängerung befindlichen neuen Erftbrücke zu machen. Sie sind offiziell weiterhin gesperrt. Die Sperrungen werden offensichtlich regelmäßig geöffnet und von Spaziergängern und Radlern genutzt. Ich empfehle, diese Brücken und Wege erst dann zu nutzen, wenn die offizielle Freigabe erfolgt ist. Bis dahin werden wahrscheinlich auch noch mehr geteerte Wege vorhanden sein und die Brücken sind dann auch fertig einschließlich Geländer. Wenn das soweit ist, dann könnte ich die neuen Wege abfahren und dann eintragen. Noch besser wäre es wenn der Bauherr das täte, wie er es auch versprach...Heute konnte ich beide Autobahn- und Erftbrücken mit dem Rad überqueren. Da in osm nur die offiziell der öffentlichkeit zugänglichen Wege dokumentiert werden, bleibt es vorerst wahrscheinlich bis September 2026 bei den Sperrungen. Wer aktueller informiert sein will, den verweise ich auf die wöchentlichen E-Town-News von Guido Beutler, wobei ich darauf hinweise, dass dies keine Stellungnahme zu seinen vlogs darstellt.

The road block of the street below (L158) will not be entered because it is only for 1 week (2x), and we only map road blocks longer than 3 months, this was decided at the OSM conference in Göttingen. For now everything I can do is done, no todo anymore.
