12025-07-05 22:11Harry Wood I should've done this soon really because it's probably been about a year now that this construction site has been extended to divert my usual walk through to the tube station, going from Duncombe Rd -> Ashbrook road. I have to go down and around the little park diagonal path.
Also I t...

As far as I can tell. You've added an amenity=fastfood to the tower hamlets admin boundary relation here, which can't be right.

Are you still in the area? HAve these two been completed?
22024-10-18 10:30Harry Wood Yeah live pretty nearby. It's still in construction. Taking a while! but starting to look like it might be finished soon. I suppose I could try to have a guess at where the new building is now within the construction area.

In changeset 158044871, I've jsut added planning refs (P2018/2269/FUL) to the three sites.

If you look up that ref on the Islington portal (https://planning.agileapplications.co.uk/islington/search-applications/ ) you can see what was planned back in 2018, and pick through revisions since. ...

shop=sandwich ? Is it amenity=fast_food cuisine=sandwich ? Or are they selling sandwiches not ready to eat? Or ingredients for sandwiches?

Hi, I've noticed you've used undocumented "camp=yes" tag here. I'm trying to document known usages at https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Key:camp - can you help what you meant here? Maybe amenity=refugee_site or something else? (what is "IFO camp"?)
22023-03-31 10:48Harry Wood I don't remember very well, but I can see what happened here. I created an area https://www.openstreetmap.org/way/171166746 representing this little side offshoot of the big refugee camp ("IFO camp") to the east https://www.openstreetmap.org/way/467513806/history and I copied the sam...

12022-09-08 08:47Harry Wood It's misleading to have it rendering "Archway Methodist Church" on this building, since the church by that name is still active in the adjoining building. This derelict building was the "Archway Central Hall". More info in this heritage appraisal doc: https://planning.islin...

12022-09-07 08:31Harry Wood Tricky tagging. It's actually a small pop-up-gallery space and venue-for-hire. Not the *best* place for tourists to head to expecting an art gallery.

It seems odd for
https://www.openstreetmap.org/way/1046011963/ to have a phone number tagged but no other feature tagged.
22022-04-13 22:01Harry Wood Yeah I can't work out what this place is. No signage apart from a phone number. For a reception/office I presume. It might be an old folks home or something like that. It looks mostly residential with very pronounced wheelchair ramp outside.
Maybe I should ring the number and ask!

Looks like this is it https://www.stmartinoftours.org.uk/services/davenant-road/. Possibly a social facility, but perhaps tread warily with such tagging. It may be they want to stay discrete. I know of group homes which are not visible as such from the road.

Specifically this house (& the one next door) https://www.openstreetmap.org/way/243536822. Also this one in Cambridge https://www.openstreetmap.org/way/172026862 (which I know because I've been there, not because I've surveyed it).

12021-08-28 23:35Harry Wood I put it as shop=art because I see some art on display in the window, but looks kind of vacant (maybe never open as a shop)
Looks like the tourist info functions were merged with the nearby library, but I didn't tag that yet.
All needs a bit more survey/investigation

12021-08-10 14:24Harry Wood So at least it'll be consistent within this station, but...
perhaps the correct thing to do is to delete all the "name" tags from platforms. Other stations have only 'ref'. It's a shame Transport Map is only rendering the name tag.
22021-08-10 14:40GinaroZ
♦1,287
Yes the correct thing to do is to remove the name tag. Unfortunately osm-carto has a 3 year old issue open about this: https://github.com/gravitystorm/openstreetmap-carto/issues/3271

Harry, you were doing a little too much of "assuming good intentions" here, the monument tag had been added by a vandal, together with a matching set of name, name:en, and name:ru tags, mocking Armenia by renaming their capital a monument to rival Azerbaijan. I reverted that.
22020-05-04 11:04Harry Wood Ah thanks Woodpeck. I was just looking a bit deeper and starting to wonder if that was the case :-)

is it a name (name:de) or a description (description:de). For me it's obviously a description not a name.
22017-10-17 20:51Harry Wood That's what I thought at first, but apparently it is the "title" of the work: http://www.artnews.com/2017/06/12/it-tolls-for-thee-cerith-wyn-evanss-skulptur-projekte-munster-piece-is-nearly-imperceptible/ Unfortunately the art world has no rules about choosing sensible length of tit...

22017-06-27 21:13Harry Wood Good point. Well spotted. So I've added foot=yes to those road sections to fix this. 42017-06-30 08:06Harry Wood Yeah I think all of those footpaths should capture that pretty well.
