Bonjour,

Actually I think your change was totally fine and I undid my change. Thanks for making the map better!
4 ~ 1 month agoInfosReseaux It's a regular (and manual) process we regularly execute to fix common errors, like removing blank nodes on power lines, fixing unfinished lines, missing poles... very long but satisfying!
Thank you for review, let's continue making better maps together

The tunnel https://www.openstreetmap.org/way/1205984966 is drawn here from the three tunnel junction point (elevation >1255 m) to an inlet Grande Eau river at Pont de la Tine (elevation ~820 m). Hello InfosReseaux

Thank you for your contributions to OSM.

This edit changed the "usage" tag of way 544376704
https://osm.mapki.com/history/way/544376704

It was changed from "usage=headrace" to "usage=transmission".

If I understand the other tags correctly...
2 ~ 9 months agoInfosReseaux Hello

That's right usage=headrace covers waterways intended for power generation. It is used on waterway sections between intake and penstocks ending to turbines.

Here there is no turbine. This underground waterway was dug to move water between two valleys and ends in a river downstream.\...

operator:wikidata = Q3587594 "
Est-ce que vous pouvez les compléter ?
Merci.

Hi,
could you check tags here?

'flow' is not really common, 'flow_rate' is used and documented more often.

There are several spelling mistakes 'mechnical_driver'.
Btw, is there nothing like pump:power or similar for this feature?
2 ~ 5 years agoInfosReseaux Hi Mueschel

This changeset was partly designed to test proposed tagging in https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Proposed_features/Pumping_proposal

Thank you to bring flow_rate back to my attention. I'll have to consider move proposal to it since it is pretty used now.

That's right ...

2 ~ 6 years agoInfosReseaux Hi
Thank you for noticing this
This is a proposed key on the wiki. Have a look : https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Proposed_features/Lines_attachments
line_attachment isn't restricted to power lines, so I didn't want to include it in power namespace.

Hi InfosReseaux,

your changeset seems to be an mechanical edit: https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Automated_edits

Have you announced this retagging in before?
2 ~ 7 years agoInfosReseaux This was discussed for days on local chapter mailing list talk-fr.
This is not so mechanical since I check each place prior to retag it (Mapillary, aerial photos, personal pictures and knowledge).
power=station has been deprecated for years, it's time to get rid of it

4 ~ 8 years agoInfosReseaux Yes I'm really keen on power plant mapping and manage to find precise public documentation.
For the cavern of Lint-Limmern and Linthal 2015, there is plenty of documentation available on the web/youtube/whatever

http://c.tutti.ch/i...
5 ~ 8 years agoInfosReseaux This is precise mapping but not exact mapping. All nodes are added by hand on JOSM according to charts and explanatory texts. For example, I know the Linthal 2015 cavern is 150m long x 54m height then I just draw a rectangle at the approximative location but without any certitude.

Hmmm, I'm not sure I'm glad I asked....
I trust you are aware that information publicly available on the internet might not be usable in OSM due to its copyright situation. I leave it to you to check the copyright status of the sources you used (youtube, swisslinkpersonal.ch, tutti.ch)....
7 ~ 8 years agoInfosReseaux I agree the docs I linked may be compyrighted, but information on them certainly not.
To build such infrastructure, public institutions have to give an agreement based on projet files which are freely available and displayed to citizens. As Switzerland is a very welcoming country, open days are oft...

Is it intentional to use power=line rather than power=minor_line for https://www.openstreetmap.org/way/429960823/history ?
2 ~ 8 years agoInfosReseaux Yes, there is no consensus nor unique definition for what makes a line minor
Is this voltage? Supports? Operator? Very difficult to know in which way this will be understood. That's why i just want to say "it's power line"
