Hello! Is there any reason to use the new key "path name" instead of the known key "name"? (see http://www.osm.org/way/918449847 one of forty ways)

We are using OSM to input data for an ongoing National Trust project to nationally map all our paths.
This also ties into a Cotehele ranger project to streamline our footpath/bridleway surveys to ensure the paths are safe and useable. To do this I am creating a map of all Cotehele estate paths ...

Hi, if you use the key name you got the value on the standard OSM map. If this isn't the official name of the path you can use the key loc_name (see https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Key:name).

If no existing key fits, then the new key should at least not contain any spaces.

Just a heads up: when mapping footpaths, a lot of access tagging is implied - i.e., you don't really need to add "vehicle=no" to the ways as it's a footpath. You'd only add "vehicle=yes" if there was some case where vehicle...
