Hello! Please have a look on https://www.osm.org/way/501241724. What is the mean of the grid=yes?
2 ~ 1 year agommahmud Hi, thanks for pointing it out. It was a mistake. I see that it has already been corrected.

Looks good, thanks. 👍

Though; to account for future changes (more tagging), when citing the imagery used to trace outlines, it would be better to set source:geometry=[whatever you used], instead of just a plain source=* .

source:geometry is clear in what it refers to, while source=* is ambi...

Hi Mmahmud, thank you for contributing in Moorea. Could you next time respect good practices? https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Good_practice#Align_aerial_imagery_before_tracing We have an original quality on localization. Thks.

i corrected the positionning mistake (took me 2'), thanks for the contributions
3 ~ 4 years agommahmud Hi, thanks for reaching out. When I was mapping, the imagery was not shifted.
For future references: How do you shift an image so that all users also see the shift? Thanks

Hi, in the wiki it explains the way to proceed (see link i shared before). But basically if you see that existing buildings don't fit with imagery, you need to move the imagery so that it fits with buildings. In id editor it is at the end of the pannel where you chose imagery background.

And btw in the changeset comment, you added #MissingMaps. Is this mapping part of a missing maps project? Can you give details?
6 ~ 4 years agommahmud Hi, yeah I know about imagery offset and I generally use them when there are major misalignment but later on I have to store them to Imagery Offset Database for users to access them. I use JOSM. Even when I revisit those places, I have to download those offsets and then work on them. But when I visi...

Hi, great that you use the offset database. There is this issue that is closed about it without explanation, so maybe offset DB is taken into account, but one would need to make sure it is implemented on a known area : https://github.com/openstreetmap/iD/issues/1124
Also can you explain the link be...

If possible, please try to keep your changesets to one continent, and open a new changeset for edits in a different continent, just so that the bounding box doesn't span half the planet. Thanks!
2 ~ 6 years agommahmud Hi, I am fixing up the issues posed by Osmose in my editing which are across the globe, which is why the bounding box stretch so much. Thanks for the pointer. Will keep that in mind.

Hello Minhaz! I'm curious: is this part of a HOT project that I missed or are you mapping outside of the tasking manager?

By the way as I see you are a validator: just north of here is a project that still needs to be validated, in case are are motivated to do so: https://tasks.hotosm.org/pr...
2 ~ 6 years agommahmud Hello Athalis, hope you are doing great. No, this is not part of a HOT project. Its my personal mapping. I map by myself the areas that I find are needed to be mapped and keeps on doing that.

Hi brother, thank you so much for adding the mosque.
here is how you can properly tag for Masjid:

First add these for building:
building=mosque [If the whole building is used as Mosque. In BD, in most case the whole building is used as Mosque. yes isn't wrong, but why not more precisely. B...
2 ~ 6 years agommahmud Dear Zabir91, glad to see your enthusiasm. However, you have attached the comment in the wrong change set. The building I mapped was done by remote mapping, not field survey. The mosque POI was done by someone else. Happy mapping.

Hi,
I found four buildings with the tag "ODK =OMK". Looks like a mistake, could you check that?

Cheers, Jan
2 ~ 8 years agommahmud Hi, thanks for showing me this. Somehow it got pasted on the features. I will correct them.

Please do not adjust existing objects according to Bing imagery without adjusting imagery, because Bing imagery is of very bad quality (severly misplaced). When in Lithuania please use ORT10LT imagery - that one is correctly positioned.
2 ~ 9 years agommahmud Thanks a lot for informing me about that. I searched for an offset for Bing imagery, however there were none in the Imagery Offset Database. I did not change any existing buildings, only drew new ones.
