Hi mrfa,

thanks for the new information.
btw, I don't think the way of adding a "motor_vehicle=yes" tag to a "highway=track" is the best tagging solution, if vehicles or motor vehicles are allowed there, maybe it should be considered to upgrade the highway from 'hw=...

correction:
(if* traffic_sign information is available)

One additional question, what was/is the source of the data?
3 ~ 6 years agomrfa Hi sky-hub,

Thanks for your suggestions. The main reason why I added motor_vehicle=yes tag is because track roads by default mean that motor vehicles should not be allowed. But from our delivery agents GPS traces we can see that motor vehicles can travel through this road and also that is verifie...

Hi mrfa,

thanks for your thorough report.
In the meantime I did a on-the-ground survey for that area and I added some changes based on it, see here:

Hello,
It looks like your addition of motor_vehicle=yes to https://www.openstreetmap.org/way/691605434/history has some of the same issues that have been commented about elsewhere (see http://resultmaps.neis-one.org/osm-discussion-comments?uid=8476275 ). What was your source for adding this tag he...
2 ~ 6 years agomrfa Hi Andy,

As per your suggestion the motor_vehicle=yes that was added to the track roads have been reverted. I checked all these type of edits and reverted wherever necessary. Thanks for your insights.

Please don't delete the service=parking_aisle and service=driveway tags from parking aisles and driveways.
2 ~ 6 years agomrfa Hi,

Thanks for the update and we apologize for the delayed response. As per the OSM wiki https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Tag:service%3Dparking_aisle it was mentioned that "The main way(s) on the parking lot, for entering and connecting multiple parking_aisle, should be mapped with highw...

Hello,
Can you explain how the surface of this road determines the access tag? I can thin of plenty of paved roads that aren't legally accessible and plenty of unpaved ones that are.

Andy
2 ~ 6 years agomrfa Hi Andy,

Thanks for looking into my edit. Actually the edit was made based on the vehicles that are visible in the associated building and our delivery GPS traces. But as per the request from the community reverting these access tags.

Hi, this edit has gone a little wrong. You have added this service road through an existing building and commercial area. Please slow down and take your time editing, mapping is not a race. Often when adding new objects we need to tweak and improve existing objects.

Hi Phil,
Thanks for looking into the edit. Generally these type of errors wont happen. The editor might have turned off the building feature by mistake. We had a connect with the editor and explained it. We have edited the building feature as per the Bing Aerial imagery.

Do let us know if there ...

Hi ndm,

Thanks for looking into this edit. This is a pure mistake from the auditor. Since the other end of the road is covered with grass the auditor assumed the road to be passing via building. I communicated not to make any edit in OSM unless we have a valid source. We also went ahead and fixed...

No worries - I just wanted to make sure before I marked it as a building passage -- I couldn't be sure just looking at imagery.
