Thank you for your improvements to OpenStreetMap. This change adds the name "Mull of Kintyre" to https://www.openstreetmap.org/node/9798021785 but there's already a "Mull of Kintyre" with the same wikidata tag at https://www.openstreetmap.org/node/6572722269 - it seems wron...

22022-06-11 10:16mountainmonkey Sorry, missed that - now sorted

Hi
There's no requirement to add highway tags to platforms. Their raison d'etre is to be walked on.

Hi Mountain Monkey,
Can I ask that as well as splitting forest relations, that you also check heath relations as well please?

This change removed a chunk of relation 13417952 in the NE corner near Rowantee Hill ( https://www.openstreetmap.org/changeset/116734954#map=14/55.3243/-3.0160&layers...

Hi,
You changed way 241710612 from a track to a cycleway. it's not a paved cycleway it's just a rough track. So I'm wondering why?

Thanks.
22022-01-05 17:21mountainmonkey Hi,
Yes I remember this one (2 years ago). When I walked this 2 years ago it was mostly too narrow to drive a car/landrover along so no longer a track. It had recently been resurfaced about 5ft wide with a good quality gravel surface - that would make it a path. But it is signed at either end as pa...

Yeah, no bother. I'd maybe have gone for path if I felt like it needed updating, since that doesn't discount cycle use. But not fussed. Just wondered the rational.
Cheers.

Hi, I believe that the Sutherland Trail is an unmarked route that just exists in a guide book and as such do not believe it should be in Open Street Map. Can you please review?

Thanks,
Mike
22021-12-06 21:48mountainmonkey Hi, I moved the name from https://www.openstreetmap.org/way/48076622/history to a new route relation because that's a better way to tag a route name, I don't know anything about the Sutherland Trail itself, didn't see any signs when I was in the area and have no objection to you delet...

Thanks, I have examined the originator of the way. He/she only made two edits back in 2015, so I have deleted the relation.

Hello,
Is https://www.openstreetmap.org/relation/11505560 really a hiking route? It looks a bit odd, especially with that name: https://map.atownsend.org.uk/maps/map/map.html#zoom=16&lat=60.1543&lon=-1.16324 .
Best Regards,
Andy

Is the gate still there on top of the cattle grid?
I added it based on this and made them two separate nodes
https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/6759596
22021-08-08 10:02mountainmonkey Apologies, assumed it was a mistake and gate not visible in air photo - have now restored the gate too.

I think, but could be wrong, that this was the changeset that broke the B852 through Inverfarigaig - it no longer connects. I'd fix it, but I'm wary of doing so in case there's something I'm missing

Hi, I'm assuming that Symington, Biggar & Peebles Branch is the name of the abandoned railway along which various tracks and roads run. I don't think the name should be applied to the roads as this suggests it is the name of the road, and probably not to the other highways. I suggest t...

I assume this razed line wasn't meant to be tagged as a path since it goes through Tesco, so I removed the tag - free free to update https://www.openstreetmap.org/way/300398934

You tagged this campsite access=private what is THW reference for that? Might be permanent camping only though.
22019-10-07 17:08mountainmonkey I visited in person and discovered that camping was not possible - it is only open to people renting a pitch long term. Can you suggest a better tag combination?
32019-10-08 07:40giggls
♦104
OK you should likely add
permanent_camping=only and an optional
description tag stating the fact.

Both tags are supported in opencampingmap.org

Thanks for adding the cycle path, saw construction photos on fb. I've marked it as lcn=yes to complete the route to Kilrenny. Did you notice if there was a path alongside the road here? https://www.openstreetmap.org/node/908836830
22018-10-25 11:10mountainmonkey No sorry, I didn't have time to go down Windmill Road.

I think https://www.openstreetmap.org/way/635792335 would be better tagged as a breakwater?

Hello,
There seems to be a bit of duplicate here - presumably https://www.openstreetmap.org/way/514599377#map=19/56.09583/-4.37056&layers=H and https://www.openstreetmap.org/way/113081869#map=18/56.09578/-4.37026&layers=H are the same thing? You can see them both rendered at https://map.at...
22018-09-09 16:26mountainmonkey Yes you're right, all I did was re-tag 113081869 to put it underground. Feel free to delete one.

Hello mountainmonkey,
You've somehow mapped a lot of these ways in duplicate, paths, tracks, fences and walls. Placing one way (path) directly and exactly on top of another (path).
Thus grossly bloating the database and confusing routers over paths and tracks.

I started removing some duplic...
22018-04-22 20:35mountainmonkey Oops. JOSM crashed during upload, I thought I had resolved conflicts correctly but clearly not.
Think I have fixed most of the duplicates now.

Noticed there was a fixme here https://www.openstreetmap.org/node/92654858 - is this a cave entrance as well?
22017-11-30 19:50mountainmonkey Didn't spot that when I was there because OsmAnd doesn't render natural=cave. I don't think there is a cave there, it's up a steep wooded bank, but I can't be sure.

Shouldn't this road https://www.openstreetmap.org/way/221196402 be highway=service instead? It seems to primarily serve houses
22017-03-22 10:21mountainmonkey Thanks for comment - I've checked http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Talk:Tag:highway%3Dtrack and I think you're right. Have fixed this one and some others nearby.

Hi, I think your change adds way 297059390 to the coast path, however, this way is marked as private. Can you please review the access to this way? Please accept my apologies if I have misinterpreted your change.

Cheers,
Mike
22017-03-15 11:45mountainmonkey Well spotted, thanks. These roads are open for non motorised users so I have corrected the access tags to reflect this.
